Have the French restrictions been quietly dropped?

I believe it's an EU entry ban rather than individual countries, and most countries seem to be pretty much ignoring it now.

If you look at the Dutch site for example it still says you must have have had a booster within 270 days

Looks like EU rules haven't been updated since March

There can’t be many places left……even Germany have got rid of theirs

Still can’t go to Netherlands Antigua USA or Canada if unvaccinated and Spain still require a test but getting back to normal.

It really is a nonsense though when the vaccinated can spread it just the same as the unvaccinated and arguably more likely since they don’t have to do a test.

We are half way through a road trip through Mexico, and are currently in a hotel on the Gulf of Mexico, all due to the uncertainty of the covid requirements in Europe this summer.

Only requirement here are masks in some places - Hotel restaurant in Mexico City and Acapulco, but not in other locations, and a couple of supermarkets.

Mexico gain, and Europe's loss.

It is currently chucking it down at the end of a biblical storm, but still 31 degrees.

Europe loss? You don't have to do anything its back to normal. I have just come back from Northern Italy for 2 weeks, no covid measures no passes or anything! Completely back to pre covid life there.

It might be back to normal now, but it wasn't when we were sorting out our trip a few months ago.

Off to Ibiza in two weeks , anyone know whether they are following the current Spain unvaccinated rules? If they are then its absolutely ridiculous

I've just been to Lisbon for a long weekend - no questions asked.

Masks on the Metro only, though most have have them hanging around the chin and there is zero enforcement.

Just like old times.

Hopefully the US will see common sense soon. The CDC is seeking public comment on vaccination requirements for non-citizens who want to enter the U.S. as visitors.

Its nice that they are at least thinking about us. Hopefully Canada will do similar.

Given how Trudeau has been thus far, I am not convinced they will do so.

Hope I am wrong although based on how he has treated his own citizens I am not sure I wish to go there while he is in charge.

That said, he was voted in again so perhaps Canadians are happy……….

We know it is ridiculous and I suspect they do also but as far as I know, there are random checks at the airports where they may ask to see your proof whether that be vaccinated, proof of recovery or negative test.

If it were me, i would get the cheapest LFT you can get and ensure it is negative - I have heard the Klarity ones are quite good for getting the certificate.

So that's all I need ? A lateral flow test?

You will need to have a certificate showing it as negative - I think that Klarity will allow you to use a NHS test. We have used Chronomatics before - very easy and quick.

The LFT needs to be 24 hours before travel

We went to Menorca mid June, and you had to show proof of vaccine/recovery/neg test after passport control. It wasn't random, everybody had to do it.
Of course they may have seen sense between then and now?

Would be good if they dropped it sooner, missed out on few opportunities because of this. Given how many places are dropping it can't be long until they do. Although a few people I've spoken to have said they weren't checked for anything when they did go but not worth the risk over there

I’ve given up on the Netherlands removing their ridiculous requirements so have just booked flights to Brussels Charleroi and will then jump on a train to Rotterdam.

Ryanair (2 weeks out) from Edinburgh cost £45 return (£12 for the return leg).
