That's the spirit. Marvelous
Exactly.Slightly off topic but I attended a wonderful Georgian wine event the other day (with my 2 Tartar friends!) in Tbilisi and met an amazing American gentleman that drove form London to Tbilisi 50 years ago in a Fiat. He is now revisiting some of the places he went to during that trip and shared some wonderful stories with us. The kind of marvellous adventures one never forgets.....
P.S - @GT03ROB, you are quite right about Tartar ladies being feisty especially when they've/we've been drinking wine all day but goodness gracious me they're attractive..!!
P.P.S - 21stCM I hope you do end up having your trip and I would be quite confident in saying you would not regret it one bit.

Following with interest. I was looking at doing something vaguely similar just before it all kicked off.
I was looking at cycling/ driving the bit your not sure about (Russia) west to east and finish in Kamchatka.
Have a Russian working with me so good source of info, was helping learn basic language aswell.
Watched Bald and Eli from Russia on youtube. Both good for where to/ or not visit.
I,ve always wanted to visit Russia, so vast, so many different cultures, so many different ways of living.
All the youtube vids and people who have visited paint a different picture of the people than us westerners think.
Get the impression they are mostly friendly people.
Most people see Russia and just think Moscow, there all the same.
Would really like to visit one day.
Keep us updated how you get on.
Are you seriously considering cycling thousands of miles across Russia? Have you not seen how bad the roads got in The Long Way Round?! lolI was looking at cycling/ driving the bit your not sure about (Russia) west to east and finish in Kamchatka.

Ha Ha sorry i should of said a few years back I was semi seriously thinking about it yes.Prob to old and to unfit now.
I would still like to visit the country though, I just find it interesting. And no I,am not a fan of its current "military operation"
I'm following this Italian couple taking the same sort of route in a van this year. Hopefully I'll learn from their experience.
