FOR THE SEASONED SKIERS HERE do you change your ski boots every 3 years like a car and trade them on eBay?

No, all the old pairs are sitting in my loft getting in the way!

TBF, by the time I change them they're a bit baggy and slack so nobody's really going to want them.

Snap! See you there!

Just booked flights to Denver for 8 days in February, figuring out which resorts to hit. Blimey, expensive accommodation and lift passes.
I've "acquired" your number so I'll drop you a text with mine, see you Weds beer

Exactly.

In most instances I am changing when the liners have compressed. The current pair I've also bent the buckles.

I'm off to Heierling in Davos later this week to have a new pair fitted - the old pair will be heading to the recycling.

Just waiting for my season pass to arrive for the Grand Massif as we’ve rented a chalet in Morillon for the season again woohoo
Popped over to Samoens yesterday to pickup my season pass and do a few other bits and pieces in advance of travelling out for the season next weekend. Starting to snow a bit now too. Should be good!

Think mine have done 7 seasons and they still work well for me. More important to replace helmet as the ol' noggin is pretty important. After 5 seasons I've equipped myself with a replacement for this year.

30 weekends ....or assume possibly a few full weeks so it really still is pretty much every weekend from Dec to early April.
With 3-day weekends pretty much every week plus 12 days at Christmas/New Year and 3 other full weeks its quite easy to do.

We were in the Savoie in the square in Samoens for lunch on Saturday as we were dropping our skis and boots off at the chalet on the way back from Tignes. Can't wait for the season proper to start now, although we wont be out regularly until 12th Jan.

These were waiting for me at work when I got in this morning biggrin

We've had 3 days of snow here in the Engadin and I'm now looking at blue skies and a fairytale winter scene. It's about -10 outside and will get to -20 overnight so the snow should stay in great condition.

The only big issue is that we're now at very high avalanche risk so some of the slopes are closed.

At the weekend the women's FIS races were here which is always fun. We've got the para-skiers in town for races this week.

Should be a great season.

Have any of you skied on the east side of North America?

I am based in Toronto. A cursory look suggests there is some good skiing in Virginia?

Tignes looks amazing already this year.
