The actual flight from Heathrow to Venice was probably 80% full but was totally full on the way back which was strange.
They have reduced flights to match demand.

Planning a trip to northern Sweden in November to hopefully see the northern lights.

Prices are reasonable and availability good, surprisingly smile

Appreciate it’s not summer anymore but figured most of us here were planning/moved holidays to October-December.

We’re due to fly out in a week to the Canary Islands. I’m so wondering if flights will be stopped. Anyone flying anywhere this coming week? Few people think we’re mad going, but quarantine isn’t a problem. My partner is in the office full time having to use public transport and can WFH for two weeks upon return.

Just come back from a week in croatia (istria)
Ryanair flights from stansted, £25pp each way, masks in the airports and on-board complied with by everyone we saw.
Flight out 50% full
Flight back 60-70% full

Hire car £65 from alamo netted us a lovely 2017ish opel astra estate cdti with 61,000km on it and came with free rental dents and grilles missing

In Croatia (we covered istria, so pula, rovinj, vrsar, porec, novigrad) itself, very quiet overall, mainly local and germans, only met 1 other British couple in a week, masks in shops and enclosed spaces, but otherwise entirely normal life. Given Croatia's figures on covid and my experience, its my opinion that's its total insanity that we have a quarantine restriction on the place.

On return to stansted, absolutely no checks of locator forms at all for anyone. From wheels hitting runway to sitting in my car to drive off was 28 mins.

Our half term flights to Barcelona have been cancelled. Had kind of given up anyway as quarantine means we’d have to take the kids out of school for 2 weeks, which we don’t want to do.

Pretty much given up now because of quarantine, although might get something last minute if we’re not being forced to do some kind of ‘circuit breaker’. Madness

we just decided to wing it, quite literally... flights to Rome booked for the beginning of October, just got to find a hotel now. hehe
No idea what the numbers are like there, they aren't on the list...yet, and if I need to take 2 weeks off after, fine, the better half can WFH so no issues there.

Sounds like a nice trip Daz. Never visited, so maybe we should.

Just seen the information for the Canaries. Restrictions from 1-2 weeks depending on the island.

Sorry to hear that. I think I’m thinking the same with us. It’s going to be down to what we feel Friday night/Saturday morning as doesn’t look like it’ll improve in a week.

At least on here we can look back to the first pages and see which personal views turned out correct though. hehe

Just arrived in Crete. Only 30 people on the BA flight. Temp check by owner of apartments. Quiet with some restaurants closed.

I'm looking for my third COVID holiday in a week or so. So far I went to Palma (back in the day!) and Cyprus. It would be nice to have some sun in a place which doesn't have curfews or mask wearing outside. Any suggestions?

Yep Greece. Masks in shops but that’s about it. Everywhere is quiet so I’d pick a normally busier place. Corfu Town or Rhodes Town.

Heading to Greece next week, what are thoughts on travel insurance that covers COVID? I bought an annual policy late last year from Virgin Money, but I'd imagine they would be looking to wriggle out of any payment.

Edit - Just checked online and it looks like they say I'm covered due to not having the general COVID exclusion clause in my policy. Hopefully will be enough then

You should be OK unless you are going to an island with FCO essential travel only (eg Zante, Crete, Mykonos etc) then you would need something like Battleface Insurance
