You've got to have a top on, to get in at least in most places. That's about as far as dress codes go. Although there are blokes without tops on in fancy dress etc.

Ah God I really can't wait.
Thanks for the tips - keep them coming.

What time do the clubs open? Someone was saying midnight is normal...?
The clubs won't start to fill up until 12-1am. Space is open for about 20hrs a day IIRC. I remember when I was there going to Manumission and then straight to Space afterwards at 7am until about lunchtime. I came home requiring another holiday!

I have been thiking of making a trip back to Ibiza next year having been 3 times previous over the last 5 years. My take on the popular questions below;

Tickets > All the big clubs are ticketed and prices vary depending on what time entry is, what month of the season it is etc. Never buy tickets on the door, on most occasions you will get sellers walking about doing deals (usually a free drink on entry etc). Keep an eye out for any free wrist bands aswell - these typically give free entry to some good nights, the only downside is you may have to enter by 11pm (which in ibiza is early). Alternativly , check out www.ibiza-spotlight.com and go to the ticket / club night planner area.

Accomodation >> Depending what you want and who you are going with... If it was myself and I was going with say half a dozen + other mates I would head down the villa route, but try get one not too far off the beaten track. The other option is a decent hotel, which as noted by previous poster is a cracking way to meet people, find out any parties going down and have some security. Villa's in Ibiza are notorious for being robbed during the summer months.

Dress code >> There isn't one. You may find people dressing up a bit smarter for some of the nights at Pacha in particular.

Drinks >> As mentioned, get well bladdered before hitting any clubs. The drink prices in the Ibiza clubs is through the roof. Expect to pay at least 8E for 150ml bottle of water, the same again for a local bottle of beer, minimum 12E for a vodka and mixer. YOur more exotic stuff - Malibu, SOCO, and Voddy Redbull will be 15-20 upwards.

Even with tickets, in the height of the season a lot of people were getting turned away from a few nights at Pacha. They are notorious for overselling Guetta and Swedish House Mafia Nights. I would say, if you know the night is going to be a sell out and extremely popular, then head down there a bit earlier.

My advice is to get as much sleep on the plane out there as you wont get any once you land. One of my fondest memories is the plane ride home where everyone bar the cabin crew was snoring away merrily. Got a great picture my mates in various uncomfortable looking positions.

Heady days, wish I could remember more drinksilly

Hey, I run www.ibiza2012.info so should be able to help tongue out

Tickets - buy them online next year, you use the guest list que so it's quicker to get in and you'll rarely get cheaper tickets on the island unless the establishment reduces their commission (if you're spending a load of money there).

Dress code - anything goes really, save from Pacha and Amnesia VIP (no shorts & trainers)

Hotel - Ushuaia in Ibiza, amazing wink

Going by the events at this place, I doubt many people would want to stay here.

Hotel Garbi in Playa Den Bossa is a good shout.

I wouldn't necessarily rule it out on the actions of one man, granted there have been teething problems but I think that they will be completely sorted for 2012, or Fiesta will run the risk of loosing all that money.

Garbi is a good shout, also Migjorn Apartments in PDB are really nice too, as is LLobert apartmentos in figueretas

In terms of getting into the big clubs, is it a case of turning up on the night or can you buy tickets in advance? I don't really want to roll up and have to wait for 3 hours to get in.

In terms of accommodation, are there some semi-decent hotels or is a villa a better option? I'm thinking hotel for fraternising but villa for peace and quiet and long lie-ins...
Clubs. If you intend to drink, rather than just do Class A's, get VIP. Completely worth it. Arrange in advance, not on the door.

Villa is for me a far better option. More relaxed, not paying bar prices every time you want a drink, and far nicer/more private. Pool parties are excellent. The extra in cab fares more than taken care of by the fact you are buying your booze and (nice) food from the supermarket, rather than hotel/restaurants.

The villa we take has outdoor kitchen and DJ booth by the pool. It's genius.

Get onto a party boat for the day. Excellent.

Rent a motorbike, and ride to the north of the island for a day. Beautiful.

I was in Ibiza in August. I had such an awesome time. Met so many people(women). Nearly started a riot. Consumed LOTS of free alcohol.
Two boat trips. Won't ever forget those.
I can't wait to go back.
