German driving holiday 2 weeks, what route, where to go?
Discussion
As previous posters said I'd definitely try and fit in the technik museums- both Speyer and Sinsheim are great, Sinsheim has more cars and Speyer more planes, and Merc museum Stuttgart is very good. Remember you're supposed to display a environmental zone sticker to drive into most of the big city centres now, or it's a 40 euro fine. I may have ahem, 'forgotten' to get one last 2 times I went to Stuttgart though and didn't have any trouble.
The Autobahns are great when they're running but can grind to a total halt for hours randomly.
Cities/towns have quite a lot of forward-facing speed cameras. Really enjoyed both trips I've done driving around Germany, friendly people and some lovely towns and scenery.
