great if you fancy getting the sts so bad you have to scoop your intestines out the toilet bowl every day, and if you like all the hassle of old world egypt without any of the charm or history. There are lots of great hotels, but sadly they are full of chav brits and pissed russians. It's the new benidorm for council estaters.

Stayed at the Hyatt Regency and would recommend it..
+1 Totally blown away by the level of service and attention to detail. Now in the process of convincing the missus we should go back there next year (we went in 2006)

2 years ago Sharks Bay Hilton was very good (a.i.) - Staff very professional and friendly. Russians in the minority (the bleeders really don't cotton to 'civilised' western behaviour) and the hotel had its own camel outside for those essential photos!!

The diving in Sharm is fantastic, if a little over-crowded. We've been a few times and it makes for an enjoyable holiday. The only downside is you are virtually guaranteed to get the sts, no matter how many precautions you take.

Naama bay is pretty busy in the evenings, with a real bustle about it. It's always good fun to take a taxi from Sharm to Naama bay - they have a strange habit of driving with no headlights and just flashing at other cars to warn them of their presence.
