Soho Tavern is well worth a visit. Dirt cheap pints and great Indian food. 15 minutes from New St on the tram

I usually in the Radisson when in Birmingham (a couple of times a month). It's a nice walk down the canal from my office

Fazenda also a good place to eat (I was there last week) but I've always gone there with a big group

Ala Mexicana is superb but you'd need to taxi it from town - family run Mexican that does proper Mexican food. Adams etc it's not, think very colourful with plastic table cloths.

Mate recommended Chakana recently but I've not been yet, not town centre but over to Moseley, along with Indian Cafe Racer which is supposed to be good.

Rudys is always reliable for pizza.

May I wreckermend Cafe Soya in Chinatown - Unit B106 Arcadian Centre, Birmingham B5 4TD for lunch or dinner.

Vikingette1 who is at Uni of Brum took us there. When she said Cafe Soya, my meat alarm siren went off. But I needn't have worried, there's a meat menu and a veggie menu. A little formica-ry inside, but clean and quick service. And some of the best food I've had. Open to 9pm.
