Intrigued by the medieval castle though, Budapest was always where the main palace was. I have a feeling we're actually very close to Budapest but I can't narrow it down further than that.

I’ve cycled along the Danube from Ulm to Budapest and I do vaguely remember seeing a medieval castle up on a hill just before I got to Budapest, so looking back at my photos I found this which appears on my photo map as Visegrád. Is this it?

I'm 99% Norway as there was a documentary on last week or so............Viking burial ship had amazing lots of stuff on it IIRC.

That's the Viking Ship Museum in Oslo, we were on a cruise last Christmas and visiting that was on one of the excursions.
