If it's original, I guess it's away from the major cities, a admin or training area, somewhere that wasn't bombed heavily.

I can only Google from here on.. It's not in the places that I frequent in Bavaria, could be the north, Minden or Hannover area..

But both were flattened or had a big allied forces presence, so I would have thought it would be demolished by now.

It may help your search that the eagle was stolen about 12 months ago. Hannover is close.
