I've just booked a week in Fuerteventura in early August and have ordered some masks and replaceable filters.
The karaoke bar I frequent has posted videos from their first night and, apart from groups sitting 2 metres apart, the karaoke seems to be in full operation and not much sign of face masks in the bar.

The rule is "Using masks will be compulsory on the street, in open spaces and any closed place of public use, when it is not possible to maintain a safe distance of at least two metres (6.5ft)." so it will be interesting to see how it is policed.

This is a sort of tentative exploratory holiday as I have two more, booked there, in late October and next March.

During the day, we will be touring the island and visiting the usual remote places with no people so masks should not be a huge issue.

Just booked a villa in a small place in Corfu for end of August. Flights are £140 return and villa owner has already been in contact to thank us for booking and sort out transfer from the airport and arrange anything else we want.

We had 15 boats go out today in the Ionian, Greece. At last! All UK customers, so pleased to be on holiday!

Currently sat by the pool in Croatia - drove here via France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy and Slovenia - only issue was the Croatian border - we hadn’t filled out a form - they let us in on the promise we did so.

Hotel in Pula is at 40% capacity, mainly Germans/Austrians, head down to Hvar in a few days. Only issue is masks in public places ex. Restaurants/bars/clubs
Did you have your accommodation pre booked or is it possible to just book somewhere on arrival?

Anyone any thoughts on whether Portugal will be opened up without quarantine? I hear a decision could be made tomorrow or the 31st July?

Pretty sure you will be OK for August. Think we have been harsh on Portugal given their one of our oldest allies and have a much better record on Covid than us.

Just got back from 9 days in Greece
Athens/ Olympia/ Mcenae/ Coirinth/ Mystras/ Delphi/ Mount Olympus/ Thessaloniki/ Santorini/ Mykonos

Pretty much normal out there, some waitresses have masks on and the museums/ airports/ ships make you wear the mask.

Oh and the PLF form.

I was just doing booking.com every day for the hotel when i couldnt drive any further. 30/40 euros a night. No issue getting anywhere.

TUI have some pretty cheap deals now for both Greece & Turkey as a family.

Greece appears to be a case of fill in the form, fly out, you might get stopped at the airport for testing. If you do you may have to quarantine at hotel for 24 hours until results are available.

Risk is that anyone on the plane tests positive you get quarantine for 14 days.

Other than that seems reasonably normal, masks in public places but in terms of a 'resort' hotel style stay I don't see it being too much of an issue. Pools etc all appear to be open.

Turkey - I don't have the same level of detail - does anyone have any info?

Cheers

French shops being strict on masks already though it is undermined by the kissing on each cheek.

Still I’d rather be here in the Lot valley and stay by the pool than back in the UK.

36c today and the pool is 22. And the rose is very cold.
Sounds fabulous - we arrive 3 weeks on Friday!

Form said 'one location for 14 days(!)' which has since been contradicted by other advice. Form may be changing daily.
No checks whatsoever, after I left Athens airport.

I'm only going for a week in Sept.

Now wondering if I should if there's a chance someone on the aircraft tests positive, I'll be stuffed, and work won't be too happy.

In fact my manager told me not to tell him where I'm going as they are thinking of banning employees from going abroad.

Is that 14 day quarantine thing for a whole flight a rule or is it just like the normal track and trace rule in place at the moment where you’re supposed to self quarantine if you’ve been near someone that tests positive?

Just looked at the Greek site and all seems pretty serious (understandably).

You quarantine for 24 hours if tested and wait for them to contact you. If you or anyone else on aircraft are positive it's 14 days and can be moved to State accomodation.

TUI cancelled our holiday and my girlfriend was all for taking the refund. It was me that said let's rebook.

She'll flip if she finds out about this.

I hadn’t seen that where was it?

I’d just seen this

https://travel.gov.gr/#/

Where it says practice social distancing if tested.

Then the U.K. FCO say

https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/greece/en...

Which is more similar to what you said.

Lots of “Mays” and “mights” there though. Lots of tourists arriving in Greece this week form the U.K. and loads more from other EU countries earlier, so we’ll soon hear if people are actually being quarantined though.

I expect the situation will be quite different again in September when you’re planning on going tbh.

Look how much the rules have changed in the last 6 weeks or so.

Seems a bit dramatic. The Icelandic’s only quarantine you if it’s someone in close proximity on the plane, I can’t remember the exact rules from when I last looked but it seemed typically Nordic in its measured approach.

I had a flu after sitting next to someone on a flight who turned out had SARS years ago. I think only the people in the same row and one in front and behind got contacted about it from what I remember.

Canada remains in pretty strict regulation.
- 14 day quarantine for all visitors including returning Canadians.
-mandatory masks in all indoor public areas in majority of places
-patio dining permitted but indoor restaurants and bars still closed in many areas including Toronto where I live.
-US-Canada land border closed for non-essential travel till end of August earliest.
-very little domestic air travel.

Still, incidence of CV now very low. I will not be taking a vacation.
