Waiting on the dates to be released but plan to do 2 weeks speed riding in Val D in March.

Didnt take advantage of the Easy Jet cheap flights/baggage deal so will just have to suck it up or drive there.

Thinking of doing the party week in Aspen in April

So pretty much what i had planned this year next.

Since I'm saving a fortune in 2020 travel, I'm thinking Japan for 2021 skiing.

We have flights booked to Geneva for Feb half term. We’ll be going to Morzine, as we have done for the last 5 years with a large family group. Flights were £200 instead of the £2,000 they would have cost this year.

Still sorting out the chalet, but have used the same chalet company every year and know the owner very well. Fingers crossed it comes off next year.
Ditto everything including the price, but I own accom out there. I've been going there every year for 20yrs!

And we're going there on Aug 8th.

I've even bought some Easyjet reduced luggage at 99p each way for a ski bag, I need to bring back some of the redundant skis and boards in our lockers.

Bring on 2021!
Same here, 99p luggage was brilliant. Normally costs us around £150 for the bags alone. I still need to pay for speedy boarding on the way back but will wait til it’s all confirmed.

Bit of a thread bump on a skiing related matter.

In case anyone is interested there are some *great* deals at the moment on ski gear. I visited Snow & Rock today and was very surprised to find they had nearly every size in stock for a good number of designs, most of which was 50% off the normal price.

Lots of kids ski gear in stock as well, most of which was also 50% off. Some items weren't marked up at the correct price in store (mostly showing 20-30% discount rather than 50%) but they adjusted it to the website price at the checkout.

Yep, Sportpursuit have a very good range too. My main point is to highlight that the main retailers like Sportpursuit, Snow&Rock, Ellis Brigham etc have some excellent deals for ski gear at the moment.

It depends what you mean by "snowtrain".

No, nobody will be taking the EuroStar direct from England to Bourg St. Maurice as it's been dropped for the 2020/21 season.
People will I'm sure still be taking the EuroStar to France and swapping to the TGV to Bourge St. Maurice though, probably more as you'll also have train people who can't use the EuroStar this year.

I usually go to either Banff, Jasper or Whistler each year. You're right the prices are very attractive right now and a comparable trip to what I had earlier this year is coming out at a couple of grand less expensive for 2021.

I'm just not yet convinced that either Canada or possibly the resorts will be open to us foreigners by then.

Or do you mean the infamous snowtrain which used to do the overnight run starting at some marshalling yard in the back end of Calais somewhere? <shudder> I've done that several times, always, er, an event!

Does anyone know what the likelihood of the resort companies running lifts etc for the winter season will be? Just contemplating whether a drive/Air BnB or similar will be an option, obviously depending on whether there are further travel restrictions put in place, but my thinking was that they'll open the resorts for the French anyway?

French resorts are open now, just have to wear a mask in ques and on lifts.

I think apres ski is fked but id imagine bars and restaurants are open for social drinks.

The chalet company we use in Morzine are currently recruiting for next season, which is a positive sign.

I think you'd be a brave person to bet on the resort's being open for the full season
