On the sauce already?
His choice is 2 weeks in a tent in Cornwall, or 2 weeks in the Med via a private jet. Welshy - stop worrying about it, arrive early enough, accept it's probably going to be a bit st, but overall the holiday will be less st than spending 2 weeks in Cornwall.

Yep. 20 in a private jet and you're looking at a B737/A320 type and that'll be expensive. A Cirrus CF50 holds 6 passengers and a Challenger 850 can hold up to 16 depending on configuration
But you wouldn’t want to fill one anyway, that would somewhat defeat the object.Don’t see many SF50’s around.

Popular in the States I hear. There a 1 hour flight can be a 6 hour drive and no trains to speak of. Don’t see many SF50’s around.
They've delivered 330 odd of them but you're right that I have not seen any in Europe.

Has anyone looked into hiring private jets? Clearly a good step on but 20 ish capacity could make it a very nice trip for those with the means
I wonder how much UK to the Med is?

Imagine you on Question time calling out anyones point “you’ve been drinking” then get escorted out for being rude to others (who may actually have addiction issues and that comment doesn’t help at all)

I’ve seen the odd one. I think there’s a couple on the Guernsey register including 2-DRDR.They've delivered 330 odd of them but you're right that I have not seen any in Europe.

My ex’s family had 2 in Texas - I was sitting under the flight path of Dallas Love Field a few weeks ago and you really start to appreciate how ‘common’ they are. Then you’ve got the companies like Walmart who own 22, Google with 10, NetJets (leading company) with 760 and you start to see their popularity. They've delivered 330 odd of them but you're right that I have not seen any in Europe.

I’m going to Qatar on the 20th with Qatar executive.
It’ll be a Gulfstream 650, flies at 1100 kmh with a maximum of 13 passengers.
I’m not anticipating any delays.
Still subject to ATFM I’m afraid. Got to be really important to get ATFMX status. It’ll be a Gulfstream 650, flies at 1100 kmh with a maximum of 13 passengers.

I think this claim needs to be subject to the custard test. It would be the best custard photo ever.
Personally if I was wanting to guarantee as little disruption as possible I'd be looking a bit further afield than the Med, such as somewhere like Cancun.
Long haul stuff seems far less disrupted - mostly as the airlines have 200+ people in far flung destinations they need to get home - and Mexico seem far more tourist friendly than our Spanish friends at this point in time.

Also longhaul gets prioritised by airlines and often leaves slightly later each day, avoiding that first wave of U.K./European departures. There’s also usually longer between aircraft rotations so slightly more time to make up delays.
Sitting in Spain at the moment, which has been wonderfully welcoming. The little local businesses are genuinely delighted to be bustling with British tourists again
I suspect “unfriendly” is just a bit of dog whistling. As far as I can make out, the only people they are shunning are the pissed up Brits abroad, as I’m sure a few years break from them must have felt like heaven

Think of all those poor full English breakfast, Sunday roasts and pints of johns smiths going unsold in Spain for years.Edited by nebpor on Saturday 2nd July 14:12
