That's a lot of skiing. Is that just skiing, or does it include lifts? What was the route?
Thats the whole day, so includes lifts. There are 26 check points to hit too.Route is here, we were team skiweekends http://www.tractrac.com/index.php?page=eventpage&a...

Got back on Sunday. Considering how warm it was, snow held up pretty well (and hasn't snowed properly since the 5th). Could use some more though. Still have no recollection of handing my skis in, walking back to the skil chalet etc. after the final trip down from Moosevirt....!
Thanks for the update.I was in the KK two years ago and decided to ski the last bit as I thought I was feeling fine. I think I managed 2 turns before sliding down on my arse. Never again.

I might have found a deal to Les 2 Alpes going this Saturday. Looking good for some snow in the coming few days.

Its still dumping in Bansko - aparently Sunday is going to have a deluge ....
They are having a great season and I looked into going this coming weekend but the reviews seem to pretty much crap. Long lift queues and an antiquaited lift system seem to be the main gripes. Still if you want cheap, then there is little beter.krallicious said:

Hello Chaps
Myself and a couple of friends are on our yearly "networking, stress relief and bonding seminar" this weekend in Chamonix. To our utmost surprise we find it just happens to be the weekend of the England France Rugby ! I am wondering if any of you knowledgeable folk could recommend a bar, restaurant that has attractive female bar staff, good beer, fine wine and friendly mix of English and French clients where we could watch this ,hopefully, televisual feast.
Many Thanks
Mike

Skiing in Bulgaria
Glad you're having a good slide Welshbeef. I think it's perhaps been thrashed out before here (and elsewhere) the pros and cons of Bulgaria. I've never been to Bulgaria to ski or otherwise, so I don't feel well placed to comment. All I will say is there's not much about the place that I've heard about it that makes me personally want to go.
In no particular order:
Infrastructure poor/insufficient at peak (a lot of?) times.
Snowmaking and reliability
Medical facilities should you need them.
Mostly for me, the terrain isn't what I'd be after.
But so long as you're having a good time and the snow is good who cares?! There are other budget locations that are meant to be cheap alternatives to the Alps-Bosnia, Slovakia etc

After looking around I have found a really good all inclusive deal to Sauze d'Olux leaving on Sunday but I will be driving down tomorrow so I get an extra day on the snow.
I have never skiied in Italy so I am looking forward to it. Also looking forward to exploring the Milky Way ski area as there was a huge dump on the 16th and there should be around 50 com in the coming week or so.
Has anyone been? Tips are welcome.

Fantastic weather and snow here in Garmisch. I'm sure there could have been no more than 150 people up on the Zugspitze today; felt like I was on a private ski resort! Bliss!!
Problem is ski resorts could close very early without paying punters/enough of them. Bansko has so much snow and great infrastructure yet right now and the last few weeks people of the slopes have been low. Great for the skiers but loss making to run the lifts and staff up. They stated season will close 15/4 however its looking likely they will shut very early (maybe opening for Easter) yet could easily continue non stop as its rediculious amounts of snow.
Same for other resorts.
In Bansko the tour operators window only goes up until the end of week 1 in March that's it.... Yet start early ish in Mid Dec (little snow). Bonkers start later stop later longer season and fluctuate the prices to fill capacity
