I am 99% sure it was taken from Torbel, which is a very pretty village hanging off the side of the cliff at the start of the Matter Valley towards Zermatt (ultimately) in the Valais.

It was taken on a walk fro Chamonix to Zermatt after passing the Augsbordhorn pass. A trek that I would highly, highly recommend.

So Blueg33 - you might be right about the musuem, but I didn't stop. And yes the Valais to Matt..
