I haven't been for over 25 years but I too remember being underwhelmed. And I studied the period, so I expected it to be a highlight.

Frankfurt it is. "A village with skyscrapers".

I was there on business. I used to live there (well, Oberursel) back in the 90s. The place gets bad reviews but I rather enjoyed being there.

My GF used to live in Oberursel too. Very nice it is too although living about 5 minutes from where your picture was taken makes life very esay.

It is an odd city in that you have to live here to really 'get it'. It is not overly pretty but it has a certain something about it. Anyway, a picture.
