I know loads of people that have been there, every single one of them have sh*t themselves stupid for a week. I don't know why people still go there, filthy place.
Where Israel, Egypt or East Anglia?Been plenty of times, never had a problem..................
Or you've got fire in your belly.
The only person I know who gets away with it has a small brandy before eating anything...

Amazing sea, gorgeous beaches, shame about the people and the fact you spend most holiday on the trotter.
I won't be going back on that basis, spending your holiday worrying about what you're eating certaintly wasn't for me.
I go to Egypt a couple of times a year and can honestly say Cairo gives me the runs... but immodium stops it.I won't be going back on that basis, spending your holiday worrying about what you're eating certaintly wasn't for me.
Dahab and Sharm I expect to be a whole lot better as the one reason that the sts gets you in Egypt is.... In Cairo they are using the nile to water plants for salads and that water is disease infested and they only way to kill off most of the bugs is a heavy dose of chlorine so all water stinks of that.
Away from the nile and closer to the delta and red sea the water is actually ok and shouldnt be too bad, more than likely you get the sts due to subjecting your belly to rich foods you dont usually eat and drinking copious amounts of alcohol you dont usually do when not on holiday... then blame it on the dodgy food abroad.
I just came back from Dahab and had no issues eating all the sea food I could find, eating loads of salads and drinking drinks with icecream and or ice cubes... didnt have an issue at all.
Well folks..I'm Back !! And the thread is still on the go..
First time to Sharm and loved it.. lovely weather, fantastic sealife and diving (and our dive guide was as hot as a fox), apologies for the blatently sexist comment .
Hotel and food were good, people in the hotel v friendly, (Red sea holiday village)
Ate salads, had ice in G&Ts and no real tum issues, Only drank and brushed teeth in bottled water tho and used the hand gel(provided at all the hotel resteraunts)
def on the list for a revisit.

Thank goodness for that, I am glad you had a good time, my bother went and they all got ill, their son in hospital.
Thankyou for worrying about me Not so good with your brothers family tho. Do you know where they stayed,
speaking to people i think the summer holidays are the worst time with all the kids in the pools etc and places full to the max.
Mrs Toy invested another £15 to upgrade to a 'swim up room' which gave us our own (and another dozen rooms)pool.
Apparantly during 1/2 term the game was to try to shut the main pool down which was being done on a daily basis and this caused some health problems.
Hope your nephew is ok now..

where did you go in sharm?
Hotel called 'Red sea Holiday Village' booked thro First Choice. Bit further up past the airport than Naama bay. We didnt go out much into town other than for diving, the hotel had all we needed for 1 weeks r&r.
My 4 nights/5 days cost £280 including bedouin meal under the stars, 2 transfers, all meals + drinks (in and out the hotel) and the diving was £100 more for 4 dives.
I will be going back again and missing sharm out as it seems to be the new ibiza.
I got back from a week there on Sunday, stayed at the Sultan Gardens - I ate salads, had drinks with ice in etc and was fine my friend avoided all that and was ill. Pot luck/cast iron constitution! I was a bit 'meh' about going but actually really enjoyed it for a weeks good weather/fab sea etc.

If just doing that I can highly recommend dahab for your next visit and dahab paradise, its only £40ish a night per room and is number one on trip advisor.

Mrs Toy spent yesterday keeping fairly close the bathroom. Blamed the sandwich she bought at the airport Still didnt affect her holiday.........or mine
