New Year in Las Vegas
Discussion
So it appears I got a little drunk the other night and booked 5 nights in Vegas over New Year. I'm going with a girl I've just met and really just want some ideas on things to do and must see places whilst were there.
She wants to see the Cirque du Soleil so I've booked that at the Ballagio and apparently the Gun Store is a must visit. I'm 23 and mainly want to get drunk and party so has anyone got any good tips?
Also I fancied an american classic for a couple of days whilst were there like a '67 Mustang or Stingray Corvette but i can't seem to find anything like this online.
Thanks in advance.

Vegas new year. Very busy as they close the strip off, Really want to go back for new year. There is a couple of places as you walk up the strip (mgm/paris side) where you can rent exotics, well there was when I went last year. As for things to do there is to much to mention. I love just exploring the different hotels and taking it all in. It is such a fantastic place.... enjoy.

Not when you're 23 years old. I'm with Ade on this one. Vegas is a ghastly place - even worse at this time of year. Worked there yesterday - am now thankfully in Santa Monica - and red-eying it home to FL tonight.Vegas sucks.

Just got back from Vegas. One recommendation; cancel your booking and got to New Orleans instead.
Sorry.
Both interesting cities, and if it was Mardi Gras time then New Orleans would have it, at any other time of the year though I'll stick to Vegas.Sorry.
It's a great fun town with plenty to see and do and I love going there.
If you get bored with the strip then there's plenty to do within a few hours drive of there as well.
OP if you really want to impress the new lady then book a helicopter trip into the Canyon... I did the trip in 2010 and it was excellent... limo pick up from the hotel, flight over the Dam, landing in the canyon with a champagne lunch....

Would recommend the helicopter trip to the canyon myself, we did it last year and although its expensive its really worth it.It's a great fun town with plenty to see and do and I love going there.

Ghost bar and LAX club are a must, but be prepared to pay for it. All of the clubs have a around a £200 charge for a table and this does not include drinks, if you don't want to pay that be prepared to stand all night as there is no "free" seating areas in any of the clubs.
While they are not bad I did not find them a touch on Tryst or XS which blew me away. There is something about walking into a club whihc has its own 30ft waterfall- mind you neither are cheap.

Sundance had a fatal helicopter crash a few weeks ago, which is quite sobering as Mrs Popeyed and I went on the flight to the Grand Canyon with them in September. We flew with Maverick, they were recommended to us and they have an outstanding safety record.
They are a bit more expensive than some of the other companies offering tours but IMO they are worth the extra money.

I was in Vegas in March, tbh it didn't live up to the hype.
Too many of the clubs, for example pure etc, had very little atmosphere.
They've crammed in too many posers occupying booths for table service that as a result left the club feeling disjointed and soul less.
I had a much better nights out in Kyoto / Tokyo where there isn't as much of the table service con.
