I would like recommendations on what to see and do from all those with good experience of the place.? No silly comments or piss take please lads I am an old F1 nut and started traveling to GP`s in 1974. My wife and I will be staying at Radisson Blu for four nights before boarding a ship.A tour of the race circuit is on my agenda and may be a drive around the track? (the two seater F1 ride is out of my budget)My main dilemma is Ferrari World, its just up the road,I am a F1 nut,but an old one!,its not for me is it? not interested in thrill rides, simulators etc. What else is on the island apart from hotels,F1 and sand?

That pretty much sums it up. Not a massive amount there other than what you listed and me on my bicycle at stupid early tomorrow morning. Abu Dhabi is only 20 minutes by taxi and Dubai just over an hour. You'll get bored on Yas in 4 days unless you like hotel lobbies.

This looks ace:

Watched, planned to, but never did either. 1200AED is about 200GBP which is a bit of a bargain I reckon.
Karting is a good a good laugh if you're up for that. Arrive and drive. Website says 80AED, but I remember it being 100, either way it's about 15quid for roughly 15 minutes of track time.
If you hire a car and head down the coast towards Saudi a couple of hours, you'll find the Rainbow Sheeks car collection. Never been, but could be worth a look.

I'm in the desert 6/7 days a week so I'm sure some others will have more ideas.

Oh yeah, Friday is free flow champage brunch day in most big hotels. Get on that!

Thanks for the info link about the circuit.I fancy a passenger ride in the Aston Martin race car for £133 as well as the tour.I was pleasantly surprised at the cost of everything, nothing is silly money.Mind you I think £2000 for a passenger ride in an F1 car IS silly money.

I did Ferrari World last April with my brother who lives in Dubai and ummmm eerrrrrr

Not sure what to say about it really! Two of the rides were out of action (Formula Rossa (worlds faster roller coaster) and G-Force (the vertical one)) and not being a roller coaster and being a scaredy cat I was quite grateful they were.

We got there just as it opened and it was not at all busy with no queues, most rides we just walked on. So by lunchtime we had done all the rides. Lunch was OK, and in the afternoon we did some rides for a 2nd or 3rd time. By the time we left it was busier but still not packed and only short queues.

We went on a working day and on balance I would recommend it, but I didnt pay so no idea of cost, and I am sure had I had to queue everywhere I would have got bored.

Ferrari World is OK but IMO it's the Formula Rossa rollercoaster that really makes it. The rest of it is a bit meh.
I've done the two-seater F1 car and it is immense, but not worth the 7500AED that it costs. Much better value is the three-seater dragster (about 600AED I think), which is simply incredible. I can't recommend that highly enough, assuming you're reasonably healthy. I've done the Aston Martin GT4 drive too, and that was worth doing.

After that, get up to Dubai! As others have said, there's not much else down that way. Dubai has lots to see and do and is easy to get to.
