New York - Knicks tickets?
Discussion
Knicks tickets? StubHub is usually your best bet.
The trick, and the big thing with pricing, is who they are playing. If the LA Lakers are in town, those are going to be pricey seats. If you just want to go to an NBA game bear this in mind with pricing.
I'm a NY Giants season ticket holder and I have incredible seats, the value of my tickets can swing wildly based on who's playing... I got silly money for my seats when they played Dallas on opening day meanwhile the tickets that I have when they're hosting Cleveland are worth a LOT less tha when the Philadelphia Eagles (rivals) come to town.

All - thanks for all of the ideas, it is much appreciated! Stubhub seems to be brilliant - Yesterday when I was trying to source tickets ticketmaster wasnt having any of it, i dont know if that was because it is 3 months away, but it just wasnt keen on working! The trick, and the big thing with pricing, is who they are playing. Stub hub has the tickets on sale already for nov/dec - so it seems a winner!
Would anyone recommend any other sports to see during my quick visit? ATM im planning on a Knicks game and a Jets game as states above......
all advice welcomed at this point!!

Planning a trip to NYC in late November/early December.... Really keen to go to both an NFL and a NBA game.
On th surface the NFL game looks easy to get tickets, but the kncksmay prove otherwise...
Any ideas??? Has anyone been and got tickets "on the gate"???
Thanks!
Matt

I hope you don't mind me asking (we are planning on doing the same trip in Dec 2013), how do you go about getting NFL tickets? who will you watch play and where is the nearest Ground/Stadium to NYC?
With regards too Knicks tickets We had a look on Madison Square Garden's main site for a rough idea price wise, looked pretty straight forward for booking.

We'd love to catch a NFL game along with a NBA one too.
Following with interest.
For NFL in NYC you are going to the NY Giants at Giants Stadium (or Metlife Stadium as it is now sponsored as). Located in the toxic waste dumps of Meadowlands NJ about 5 miles straight line from Manhattan. My office is across Rt 3 from the stadium so I drive to the office and walk across the bridge to the stadium. There are also buses to get there from Port Authority on 8th ave. You can also get a NJ Transit train there from Penn Station and change in Secaucus NJ I buy my NFL tickets through Stubhub or NFL.com/ticketexchage

New York has two NFL teams. NY Giants and NY Jets. tickets via ticketmaster or stubhub. Stub hub is your best bet, but as has been mentioned, price depends on who they're playing. I'm of the understanding that the Giants and the Jets share the same stadium! I simply just went to the Jets' official website, to the schedule and you can buy tickets from there.... works out in the region of £80-100 p/p i think... which i will happily pay for. They do "do" entertainment very well!

looking at it on Google maps (and streetview) as we speak
thanks
As a partial thread hijack, are tickets on StubHub really as cheap as the ones I'm seeing here?

Quite fancy going to the Basketball when I'm in Florida, didn't realise it was this little to go!

US sports aren't really like the UK where you have to buy stuff waaaay in advance or it sells out. Never had any issues buying tickets for knicks or rangers on the day (earlier in the day) or sometimes a walk up. If all else fails there are ALWAYS touts outside, sometimes at cost right before the game as they want to break even.
The exceptions are for playoffs, or rival matches (rangers/ devils for example is v popular).
Hockey is much better to watch than basketball, but looks like there wont be a season this year due to this stupid lockout, which is annoying me somewhat.
Giants are great to watch if you can stand the trek out there and the cold, but NFL is more expensive. You can get some really cheap seats for hockey and basketball still.

As said, stubhub will be your best bet for tickets. In terms of other sports, IF the lockout is over, then watch an ice hockey game. New York islanders. Such a fast and furious game.
Wash your mouth out with soap. Islanders? pffff. LETS GO RANGERS. Edited by GCH on Wednesday 19th September 16:53
