help me plan my Thailand trip in November-december (2weeks)
Discussion
Hi
Me and a friend are booking flights to Thailand for November 26th - December 9th 2014.
Can anyone help with our plan on places to go/do and see.
so far we plan to land in Bangkok stay for 2day, go to Pattaya for a 2days, fly down to Krabi and spend time around Phuket islands. then fly and spend a couple days in Ko samui, then to the full moon (ko pha ngan) party, then fly back to Bangkok and spend the last 2days around Bangkok or Pattaya.
In that time we want to do the following: (please recommend where to go for these)
-see 'paradise' beeches
-go to the zoo
-rent mopeds for sight seeing
-Boat tours
-Elephant park
-see thai boxing
-rock climbing
-1st 2nights stay in Bangkoks 4 or 5 star hotel not to posh as we will be in shorts and t-shirts not suits!
There will be more things I cant think of now, but please recommend.
Thanks

I would recommend the hotel from Hangover 2.........
The nice one.
lebua at State Tower
The rooms are really suites and there is a club level where the staff are entertained by continually bringing you alcohol. The rates were very reasonable but the restaurant at the top is bloody expensive so don't plan on eating there.

Seconded, started here a few years ago, was ridiculously cheap for what you got, stayed in the suites, free food thrown in most of the day. Do it, book the restaurant at the top before you go, views are amazing, expensive but worth it. The nice one.

Unless you are 60 and looking for a cheap lay I would avoid pattaya at all costs. Horrible commercialised place. I would much rather spend more time on KPG, Samui or the Phuket islands.

I would skip Pattaya. Unless you are looking for a cheap lay. In my opinion its a horrible place full of old fella's and Russians trying to relive their youth.Me and a friend are booking flights to Thailand for November 26th - December 9th 2014.

I'll limit myself to the rock climbing, loads on here about the other things, Have you climbed before? Are you looking to go on your own, or just first time top roping. Frankly as a rock climbing destination for a climber Thailand is awfull. The main place is Rai Lay but there are otheres, the single pitch 'top rope' routes are so polished it is untrue, I' talking Avon Gorge levels of poilsh, and in the heat the seat does not help the polish. The muti pitch climbs are just not done and the bolts are very doubtfull, and there can be loose rock. If you can climb avoid Thailand better placess to go.
I can lead E1 say French 6a/b and I wouldn't dream of a climbing holiday in Thailand, my son climbs at 7a/b and we have done a few muti pitch routes and the gear is awfull, did a trip with 5 UK mates about 10 years ago, all capable of leading E5/6 in the UK, and they hated it, we went to beach and they never came back.
If you are looking to learn to climb then again avoid as all they do is drag you up things, there is no knowladge of 'Trad' clibing in the British sense. If you want to be draged up a few hardish routes on your first day then it is OK, try Rai Lay, look at Tex or King climbers, both are on the net, both good at draging beginers/holiday makers up 6c's and they are safe, never heard of either haveing any incident, but they limit themselve to the beach walls where they replace the bolts on a reguler basis. If you want to climb on your own then both will hire you gear, and sell the guild book.
