Best public transport from Kings Cross to Heathrow?
Discussion
I have asked Parker to take the Bentley for its annual service, so find myself having to contemplate using public transport to get from Kings Cross to Heathrow.
Horrific, I know.
Tips on the least painful method?
In the Lounge because this unfortunate circumstance happens tomorrow and I fear the usual travel place is less frequently er frequented.

Tube to Paddington (Hammersmith & City or Circle line); Heathrow Express to the airport.
About 30 minutes.
This is the on-expenses method.About 30 minutes.
Cheaper methods are as above, but don't use the Heathrow Express. Use the Heathrow Connect (stopping service) which is markedly less painful on the wallet.
Even cheaper, slower, and simpler is just take the Picadilly line all the way from KX to LHR

on the company:tube around , taxi
heathrow express from paddington taxi into town a few hours early, nice long lunch, hotel car to the airport.
your paying: tube around, heathrow connect OR pic line the whole way.
i wouldnt bother with an uber, too far

The Trainline will only give surface trains, not tube.
According to Traveline, you can travel in one hop from King's Cross to Heathrow. Using Oyster card, as far as I can see it's £5 each way and takes 1 hour 14 minutes.

Piccadilly line is the easiest and cheapest method. Never taken the Heathrow Express/Connect in my life, if you add up the time it takes to interchange at Paddington, wait for a train and the slowness of the Circle/H&C line there's not much difference in time.
I'd agree with this, for the time it takes to change and wait for the Express/Connect you may as well save yourself the money and stay on the Picc line.Gassing Station | Holidays & Travel | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
