Hi guys.

Just booked NY, 19th to 24th November with a mate.

Went a year or so ago, saw all the main stuff - Liberty, Rockefeller, Yankees game, Times Sq, SoHo etc.

Has anyone got any recommendations for things that aren't immediately obvious? We're both film geeks, like our cars and a bit of culture. My mate is a sports freak so he likes hockey, NFL etc.

We're staying at South St Seaport area if that helps.

Cheers, o educated and well-travelled PH massive! smile

Check out the NY Knicks at Madison Square Gardens. Brilliant!
^^^^^ Definitely - And perhaps USS Intrepid if you're into aircraft. Get up early and watch the seaport in action - it's pretty cool - Walk the Brooklyn Bridge - Eat Buffalo wings at Dallas BBQ ( they are just mad and the spicy sauce is pretty neat) - Sinatra museum in Hoboken - Sparks Steak House (lots of Mafia connections)
The Knicks aren't playing while we're there, I'd have loved to see something at MSG.

Intrepid sounds good, as does Sparks Steak House. This is definitely going to be more of an eating holiday, I'm sure!

Thanks guys smile

I've decided on a boat tour round the island - much cheaper than a chopper. And I'm going to book to see the Rockettes at Radio City. The Brooklyn steakhouse sounds like it's going to be on the list, and maybe a couple of the ghostbusters filming locations.

To be honest, I'm looking forward to a Wendy's as much as anything!

They've tried a couple of times over the years and haven't been successful. Definitely been a few in London, though the first I went to was in Leeds in the mid 90's.

ETA Back on topic, this is supposed to be good... http://www.famousfatdave.com/
