Monaco Weekend.
Discussion
Hello.
I was just wondering what sort of prices I would be thinking of if I were to go on mini-break to Monaco for the weekend as it is always one place I want to visit. I know prices can get silly, even for the short weekend like what I am planning but just as a estimate what would I be looking at would be much appreciated.
My idea is to fly in on a Friday PM and leaving Sunday lunch-time(ish) via a cheap last minute deal like Ryanair/Easyjet. My main reason to go there is the cars outside the casino, (although I will not go into spend at the casino) and to also have a look/walk around the Formula 1 track. Is there any decent hotels in/nearby Monaco for two nights? I doubt I could rent a car at a normal rate due to my age but if any companies you know of then tell me.
So just to sum up, I am looking at advise on the following:
- Budget for hotels in/around Monaco?
- Could I rent a car at my age?
- What would an average day of food cost?
I am thinking close to £400-£550 for the weekend dependant on if I can get a rental? Am I in a dreamworld? The idea occured to me a while ago when I read a PH'ers (The Crack Fox) adventures.
Note: I would not be planning this weekend till around April/May 2013.

Thanks for the replies - much appreciated.
I think my budget is on the cheap side. All the advice given has been helpful. I think I will catch the train from the airport and although the helicopter sounds appealing I will have to give it a miss. I did not thinking of renting anything special, just like a Fiesta (or similar) as a mode of transport but I gather it may be more trouble than it is worth.
I think the hotels will take the majority of the budget but I do not mind spending a tad more for a nicer place and/or location like the ones mentioned. It helps to know an estimate of prices and to also know there is a supermarket close by..
I think on reflection, I may pass on the car (unless there are places people recommend outside of Monaco) and with the money saved in parking, fees I could rent a jet-ski as I had not previously thought about that. Is the weather fairly consisant and generally warm?!
I am getting more and more excited about it. I think a visit to hotels.com and/or trivago is in order.
Thanks again for replies - and keep more suggestions coming.
