French Campsite Recommendations for 2013
Discussion
We're planning to drive to France next year for 2 weeks during the Wit School Holiday (24th May 2013) with our 2 boys - will be 3 and 5 at the time of travel.
Does anyone have any good recommendations? We'd like to be towards the south of France due to going in May and wanting decent weather, although we'll be getting the ferry to St Malo. Things we're looking for :
Kid friendly, with plenty for them to do - pool, games, playpark etc
Good onsite facilities
Not crowded
Static Caravans available for hire (don't actually want to camp so this is essential)
Near either the beach or a large lake with facilities
close to a nice town or village
We've been looking at few place in Vendee and have obviously looked at all the Keycamp and Eurocamp places, but I always find first hand recommendations are better, plus booking direct with campsites halves the cost.
Cheers

The Vendée isn't any where near the south of France
The Loire is seen as the border between British type weather and Mediterranean type. If you want better weather keep going south. I'm sure other PHers will have recommendations in the Dordogne! Also, St Malo might get you further south than other Channel ports, but Caen gives better connections to the South proper.
Hence my comment "towards" the south, not "the South". We don't want Brittany, but neither do we want a 10hr drive once in France. Where we've been looking is just to the north of La Rochelle so south of the Loire. The Loire is seen as the border between British type weather and Mediterranean type. Max drive we're prepared to do once in France is circa 5hrs, so anything that fits that bill would be great.
