24 hours in Liverpool
Discussion
I'll be in Liverpool for 24 hours. What should I see/do when I'm there?
Arriving at around 4pm on a Friday, and plan to go for a night out, then the next day wake up slowly with a wander around some recommended places in Liverpool.
The latter part of that I can probably work out myself, but open to recommendations. It's the first part I'm more interested in - the best places to drink!
I'm happy as long as it's somewhere with good ale (especially a good porter), but would ideally like somewhere lively as well (I'm only 31 after all!).
So, recommendations for places to drink?
I plan to head back to Liverpool at some point, but would be good to make sure we don't miss something good. We'll be there in July.
Thanks for any help!

Just wanted to follow this up and say thanks for all the suggestions. We had a great time in Liverpool, although can't quite remember everywhere we went. We ended up in something called 'Level' I think, which was a dive of a place but good fun.
Early in the evening we went to a few places. Tried the Phil, but thought it looked rubbish, so went down the road to the Fly in the Loaf, which served good beer.
We had dinner at Bakchich which was fantastic (and very good value) and breakfast at Moose Coffee, which was one of the highlights of the trip in fact!
Spent the morning on Albert Dock, and had a look in the Tate. They also had 'Vintage on the Dock' running, which was excellent.
All in all, a great 24 hours (well, nearer 16...) in Liverpool.
