I quite like them. They're vaguely punctual and I've only had one plane go phut on me out of lord knows how many flights.
Shame Ryanair haven't learnt anything from how a low cost airline SHOULD be run.

I don't really understand the point you are making. Southwest put their hands up to the fact that they have not been following FAA maintenance mandates - and therefore putting their passengers at risk (you ever heard of a 737 rudder hard-over?) - and then go on to infer that this is how a low cost airline should be run. Sorry, I just don't get that logic.
Southwest is the biggest carrier at my local airport. Their punctuality record is a f*cking joke and their assignment-less boarding process is a total pain in the balls too.
AirTran make Southwest look like the cowboys they are.
The ONLY good thing about SWA is their paintwork.
