Hi, I nagged my Dad for the cash to buy my Marcos 3 litre Volvo when I was 19! Ran it for 3 years and loved every minute. Happy days, WLJ 44J where are you now!

Thanks for posting the pictures

WLJ 44J Where are you now

I owned this car for about 10 years in the 90s. Very many happy memories of a superb car which was the second 3litre marcos Volvo that I owned ,the other being CAA 12k. I eventually sold it to a wealthy Italian business man in Italy who was a senior member of the Mafia!. That is a long story for another day but there is your answer your car is in Italy
Kind regards
Alun Price

Didn't this car end up in the US? I want to say somewhere in California.

Although it was a Mantula and not a GT, my Father ran B11 RCS for a number of years in the early 00's. Last I heard probably 6 years ago, someone was trying to fit a bigger engine to it. Does anyone know what happened to the car?

Today a Marcos 1800 GT racer is...

... beautifull,

... pretty basic,

... amazing and quick, because it's so light,

... achingly pretty.

Lovely! 1800 as in Volvo P1800 isn't it..?

One of the cars I saw at Wroxhall Abbey last week has a Lotus twin cam in and I heard talk of someone putting an Alfa V6 in his car.

I've got my eye on a couple of late build steel chassied 3 litre GTs at the moment, just waiting for an insurance payout to get things moving.

I think the massive V6 will spoil the balance. The four pots are blistering quick!

Not driven one yet but hope to soon. Tried a few on 'for size' thanks to some kind owners who have let me sit in their cars and the pedal box moves back just far enough for me to get comfortable.

A few more Marcos bits 'n' bobs...

The owner of this one had a couple of models made by a friend, I asked him if the wooden chassis flexes at all under stress and he said no, if anything it's stronger than the later steel chassis...

It doesn't - It sits a long way back (and is shorter than a 4).

It is heavier, of course, a tuned 4 will be faster than a standard V6, but the V6 has a lot more torque.

A short Faces documentary from 1970.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1rs6lQoHMT8

The first minute or so has footage of Rod Stewart in his white Marcos NFJ 634G. I wonder what happened to the car.
