There's no great story of warmth and limitless sunshine around the corner, but as I'm sat outside in the sunshine with a beer cooking a spatch cocked chicken I thought I'd open the annual proceedings.

Incidentally, as I flew over the Thames Valley yesterday morning at some ungodly hour, there was a beautiful frost!

Got some bad news for you GTIR, I've done a few flights outside the EU recently and have a large stock of dark Havana Club thumbup

I went to my first BBQ of 2014 on Wednesday night, a bit cold, a bit rainy and a bit windy. Perfect! beer

Had a BBQ yesterday. That was about the 6th of this year. I think I've had a BBQ outside (good old Fashioned Coal BBQ) not that girly Gas crap every month for about the last year.

I think the first I had was about a week into Jan 2014.

OK, who's going to break it to Puggit that what he has there is just an outside cooker, not a barbecue?!

Second BBQ of the year. Proper charcoal and black crispy chicken on the back of a boat.

It's cheating here.

From inside it looks lovely and hot and sunny.

It isn't.

No BBQ shots yet but the weather's been great here today (although these pics are from last week), probably about 15 or 16 degrees c, with only a very light south easterly breeze.

Any truth in the rumoured Heatwave in a couple of weeks time then?

Obligatory BBQ shot from the weekend, quick and unplanned smile

The signs are GOOD for a prolonged summery spell arriving in the latter part of next week. Not certain at this point, but looking very hopeful party
