£6 for an evening meal?

Seems pretty harsh to me - in every private sector firm that I've worked, the allowance for an evening meal has been at least £15.

Not only do I have to pay for evening meals when at work, I usually have to pay for my bosses/clients too!

I wonder how quickly that will get tedious on PH.
You know, p there with MX5, remapped, company director etc.

I'm not bothered. I just think it's amusung that some "long termers" get so angry at other members using "in" jokes.

Any decent company would pay a meal allowance to those working away from home. Yes the BBC should get with the real world & increase the meal allowance to a reasonable level...

That isn't very much money at all. Lunch is okay at £6, but £16 for dinner? That won't get you very far.

The company I work for allows up to £70 for the day split how you wish if you are away

Still on the low side IMO. How much does your firm pay?

I don't get it. Would these people not have bought or made their own dinner anyway? So surely it's £16 over what you'd expect to spend. Topping it up out of the employees money if they want a steak/lobster seems fair. No?
