A local farmer near Shoreham got his multi terrain forklift to the gate of the field and called the police to say he was going to carry them out if they weren't moved - they were moved immediately. Another farmer put a bull in the field with the caravans and promised he'd stick some ginger up it's arse if they hadn't left by noon - they left immediatley too. I thought they lived in laybys, where are all the laybys?

As mentioned above I think a notice to the relevant authorities that if they don't take action and get them on there way you and a few others will be moving them on yourself, I'm sure they would rather have the matter defused before you cause them a bigger problem.

Not bothered to contact them, complete waste of time. They're too busy hiding in gateways along the A59 catching speeding motorists.

Arranged.... ! Man with said spreader is some distance away returning from market, so, we will have to 'pop' round when its convenient ( to us). Thinking about Midnight so they can hitch up knee deep in st and in the dark.

OP, part of my job for a local authority involves dealing with travellers when they turn up on Council land.

If you drop me a PM I'll give you some straightforward advice on how to ensure they move on quickly and efficiently.

I'd imagine you'd be done for going the muckspreader route, but I hope you prove me wrong. You will find that a lot of those vehicles they use dont need/have ignition keys and the police won't have any interest in it.

Be fair, there are two types of traveller - the traditional, and now rare and have been around foe hundreds of years. Don't cause trouble, st everywhere, steal on invade your land.

That is the second lot, the much more recent , who the OP is infested by here. The traditional travellers hate them for their lack of hygiene, dishonesty and slovenly lifestyle.
