Bucket lists seem to be very much in vouge these days. Everybody seems to be talking about what's in their bucket list, mentioning they've crossed off this, that and the other from their bucket list etc. etc. I'm also sick and tired of people telling me I should do or try X, Y and Z as part of my bucket list, especially if it's something I don't have any interest in or worse, I absolutely hate the idea in the first place.

For example, I've never been camping. In fact, I've never slept in a tent, not even for a quick kip, and the reason is I absolutely hate the idea. I don't want to go camping, glamping, or whatever other godforsaken variation some knob comes up with. I even gave up completing my Duke of Edinburgh Award even though I had completed everything to the Gold standard already; I really hate camping that much. Bungee jumping is another one. I'm not interested, I don't like the idea, I know I won't enjoy the "experience" so why on earth should I try it? I swear I'll thump the next person who suggests I should try it (ok, I'm not a powerfully built director so I'll probably just look at them disdainfully with a raised eyebrow and mutter something under my breath while politely turning down the opportunity but in my head I will want to thump them to next week...).

From now on, I will refer to these things as my anti-bucket list, things I do NOT want to do or try. Does everyone have things they don't want to try or is it just me?

Festivals or public transport (with the exception of flights as not rich enough for alternative).

Good one, definitely one for my anti-bucket list. I don't care what people do to their own bodies, it's their own business but please do not try to convince me that I should "try" having one. You can't just try it, it's permanent once you've "tried" it.

Scuba diving, especially in very low or zero visibility, just thinking about it gives me the creeps.

Likewise, caving.

hehe

'She was too drunk to drive, Coleen, so I volunteered to put her to bed safely.'

Anyway, bungee jumping. Just, no thanks.
