It's the same day every year, November 19th, yet receives hardly any mention while other commemorative days are splashed all over social media, TV, local and national newspapers to show solidarity with the day's cause.

Have a read, you'll see what this year's theme is: https://internationalmensday.com

We're just left out, not thought of, disregarded, but........

us being men - we really don't give a sh*t.

It would be interesting to know where the fault lies for the perceived lack of publicity for International Men's Day. Three companies share between them ownership of circa 90% of the UK's print media. Two of those have male CEOs. The BBC currently have a female chair, but they have, today published stories about International Men's Day on their website. The other results, when using Google News, come from BQ Prime, the Times of India and the Lancashire Evening Post (female editor but owned by National World, which has a male CEO).

The last hit for 'International Men's Day' on Sky News (male head of news) brings up a three year old story from the sport pages.

ITV (female CEO) ran 'Loose Men' feature, related to Men's Day, two days ago.

Channel 4 (female CEO) and GB News (male CEO) appear not to have reported on the matter at all.

Men: you are in prime position to promote your own event. You've only got yourselves to blame if you cannot be bothered.

It’s about time us men got one day to raise awareness about our downtrodden sex, rather than the other 364 days of the year when we only get to run and own just about everything in the world.

Suspect it's best just to let it fly under the radar to avoid a torrent of misandry and whataboutery from a small but extremely vocal section of the population who feel a need to lash out at men every chance they get...

My Mrs has pissed off to her mum's with the kids for the rest of the day and left me by myself.

Best International Mens day ever.

Was just saying to about this day when I seen it on here and no one in my house knew about it. Womens day is always promoted and any other day. I work for the nhs and receive countless emails about every occasion and how they’ll promote it etc. Not had one for this though. Then again men aren’t in favour at the nhs. Big push on women to join and will get favoured over men. Yet we’re the ones who have to train them. ( Maintenance side of nhs not nursing etc )

I suspect it’s not ‘fault’ so much as men in general being totally uninterested in some stupid day that means/changes absolutely nothing?

They should really rename it something appropriate like “Steak and bj day”, then I’d look forward to it.

Absolutely, and for all you married men who half jokingly suggest it to the wife in the hope she agrees I bet the response is an eye roll and a face that says "Well that ain't happening"

I didn’t know, neither did Mrs. DG, that’s not to say I don’t think it’s important.

If a day like this raises awareness for Men’s mental/physical health issues, then that’s a good thing.

Anything else is a bonus, depending on you’re priorities.

What about the men that aren't running the world so probably 99.99999% of them.

Spot on, I would say your average woman is more valued in society than the 99.999999% of men who are not running the world and are largely anonymous to everyone.

They are already trying to eliminate us from the media by pushing the message that everyone in society is trans, gay or in a mixed race relationship. Just think how often a white, middle aged man is portrayed in an advert other than as an object of ridicule.

Plus as a man there is nobody to bail you out and provide a house and financial support to allow you to stay at home all day.

I say damn right we need an International Men's Day, it is just a shame that the media want to keep it quiet.

Suicide rates are much higher in men than in woman and women don't get sent to fight in wars.

What do mixed race relationships have to do with it?

It's not very scientific, but the only people apart from on here, who I have heard mention international men's day are women.
