So I have a family wedding later this year which will be in Aurba of all places. The invite specifies the dress code as "beach semi-formal" and all I know about this is that I don't have it. For those of a more sartorial persuasion do any suggestions as to what this would look like and any good places to source said garments?

I'm hoping the collective wisdom will mean I don't look like a complete berk...

What a versatile fashion arena the beach is, you have so many stylish options to choose from:

Linen suit with fancy flip flops or sandals.

Could go with just the linen trousers and shirt.

Could they be anymore non specific? Beach semi-formal. No one wears formal clothes to the beach, so what's there to step back from?

Personally, and semi seriously, I'd be taking some serious inspiration from Crockett in Miami Vice and updating it a little. Pastels, linen etc, but modern cuts. I despise flip-flops wholeheartedly and am back a motion that anyone wearing them can be beaten to death with them. Who wants to see someone's manky trotters on display and the fking noise they make. Espadrilles maybe? To meet the semi formal nonsense requirement maybe a cotton t shirt rather than a shirt, and linen trousers
