I am so tempted to get the artificial tree out and get some decorations up. Is November to early?

A few places in Edinburgh have their decorations up already and my home town has about half of their decorations attached to the lampposts already, thankful they are not turned on yet .

Some of the Xmas decorations in swansea have been left up from last year!, mine go up the 1st weekend of december usually come down just after boxing day.
Last year my mother took hers down as we were finishing our Christmas dinner! hehe

It's your house, do what you want. Personally I think it takes away from the event itself if you have them up for so long. I prefer to put them up just a few days before christmas and take them down the day after boxing day, then it really feels special. If I had to stare at them for months I'd get bored of looking at them.

Driving over the top of the Moors on Sunday on the way back down to Pickering we saw something strange up ahead, just off the roadside.
A naturally growing Xmas tree amongst the heather, about 5ft, and decorated with baubles and tinsel. Raised a smile.

I was in M&S today, buying gloves (yes, a life lived fully on the edge). They had some Xmas decorations up.

House down the road from me had their decorations up around a month ago...

Seen the lights going up in Aberdeen the other day, were getting tested.

You have got to be joking frown

I like Christmas - I like the family coming round thing, I like the semi-permanent residence in my local over Christmas - New Year week. But crap like this makes me just want to forget the whole thing. Bag of ste!

To put things into perspective - Christmas decorations are up these days for around 20% of the year! That's not "special", is it? frown

Will go and select our tree on the 27th when the farm opens, then collect it a week or so before Christmas (select one that's still growing then they cut it when you go back). It will come down a day or two after New Year.
