I have a sudden urge to go work as a translater abroad. Not to make things right, to ammuse myself immensely on a daily basis.

Don't bother. Translation isn't that amusing a job. Most of the time it's pretty dull. wink

That said, I've seen a couple of gems in my time. One of my favourites was a Chinese to English to Swedish translation.

The English (accurately, if not elegantly, translated from Chinese), said "when the device is operating, a blinking light will appear". The Swedish expanded upon this and said (translated into English for the benefit of anyone who doesn't speak Swedish!) "when the device is functioning, a sodding light will come on". hehe
