In the real world of course. You can expect your car to be at least vanadlised. If not a full on hate campaign by neghbiours and associates rolleyes

Maybe it was different when you were 20. But certainly in my lifetime it hasn't been the case.

I swear to fking christ, the lefty "live and let live" And "rules are not set by the government, maaaan, but my my own morals" wkers are the reason we get criminals nannied to fk and told they CAN have tvs and playstations in prison. It's all about their human rights isn't it?

fk em. You break the laws of this land (and some laws will be arse inevitably) in the country expect to get punished if you get caught. Not told "it's ok sweety, just carry on" rolleyes

How have you become so scared of the world? You can expect your car to be at least vandalised? bks. People like you should stop having your opinion formed for you without having any experiences of your own and actually go out and learn for yourself.

OP, what wil actually happen if you speak to the neighbours son is this:

You: "Listen, I don't mind you having a little smoke but any chance you could do it somewhere else? I can't stand the smell and it comes in through my window, you know how long that smell hangs around for."

Him: "Oh sorry, didn't realise I was causing a problem. Yeah, no bother I'll smoke somewhere else."

Edit: Ah, just looked at Rich_W's profile. This'll be the 86% trolling bit then. Well, got me to bite.

It's sadly the 14% part. I speak from experience.

When I was 19ish I fell in with an "interesting" crowd. I was never really one of them since I didn't like a smoke or a snort but we all loved Speed Garage so we'd go to the clubs/pubs or South London and rave it up a bit. Main difference was I didn't like to go out afterwards and look for a fight. Starting one if necessary. They often carried knives. If one of their neighbours had ever had the "audacity" to complain about their smoking or the associated behaviour there would have been repurcussions.

After seing an incident I will always remember I started to make excuses not to come out with them anymore. The smoking made them "twitchy" and of course when they got twitchy they got violent.

Now I can't talk for the OP. Since maybe he lives in posh surburbia and it will be completey fine. But my experience is that this sort of situation is what the Dirty Corrupt Police are for. Anonymous phone calls keep the peace. I wouldn't even entertain personal intervention. I notice that the people poo pooing the idea probably dont come from the same background...

So basically you used to be a bit of a tt and judging everyone else by yours and your friend's standards. Nice.

I'll be equally anecdotal. I smoke weed outside my house. If a neighbour pointed out they could smell it, and were polite. I'd be more than happy to find somewhere else in the garden to smoke. Almost all my main group of friends smoke as well, none of them carry knives and they're all petrolheads who'd never dream of touching someone's P+J

Rich, I grew up not too far from you, and wouldn't associate that attitude to smoke.

Sniff however...

Firstly, I was not the tt there since I didn't get involved in what they were up to. The novelty of having people like that as friends wore off quickly!

But more importantly, you are doing the reverse! laugh You are assuming because you are all nice shiny examples of weed smokers that wouldn't hurt a fly, that the guy in the OP MUST be living next to people like you. As Sway says above, whose to say if "student next door" doesn't do Coke or Billy or something harder as well? Whose to say how he will take being "found out" and potnetially get in st with his parents nice student boyo may be a violent as well.

Get the Police to deal with it. Ha always been my advice to the OP. Assuming he will actually do anything anyway.

Our neighbour had a pretty intense habit for a long time. We never said anything, but the corridor outside our flat stank of weed at all hours of the day and night. Whether I was coming home from the pub at 11pm on a Friday or going to work at 6.30am on a Monday, it was a constant.

Then one day we noticed a sign up at the end of our corridor, where it would be seen by all residents on our floor.I took a jiffy on the floor above and sure enough, no sign. Had a word with the concierge and he said there had been quite a few complaints and had noticed it himself when doing his rounds. That was 3 months ago; with the exception of one day a couple weeks back I haven't noticed the smell since.

What a story that was. I'd add a warning not to bother reading it, but I hate you all.

No. That's daily mail wording.
Cannabis will not help someone who already has schizophrenia. If you are, like 99% of the population and considered "normal" in the brain department, cannabis will not give, or cause any sort of problem. It can make things worse, but the problem needs to be there to begin with.

"Cannabis will give you schizophrenia" is an overstatement and the Mail likes to over-egg things, but the risks are there.

I mostly dislike it because it turns your memory to mush, the lefty bohemian type tts who habitually use it, it's all hydroponic st and way to strong to realistically enjoy unless you take the time to get used to it, and there are way better drugs out there - two of which have already been mentioned.

I can onl go on personal family experience.

Cannabis use has done considerable harm to a close family member- smoked every day it does NOT help your state of mind, nor ability to make rational judgements.people who smoke similar amount exhibit the same Behaviour in me experience - paranoia being one of the biggest problems.

All the people I know who smoke cannabis seem to be a little bit in denial about its harmful affects.
A common one is it isnt bad for your lungs like tobacco, all natural etc. lol. Its an organic material being burnt, therefore by definition it will produce tar and carbon monoxide. You could smoke lettuce and it would be bad for you.

Also people that smoke weed/tobacco seem to be fairly relaxed about doing other drugs.

It's moderation though isn't it?

You shouldn't really drink every day. Same with pot...

I haven't really got an issue with drugs. Except the true class a's like heroin. Alcohol is way worse when abused and that's legal.

If its really bothering you just talk to him and explain. The smoke would bother me more than the drug use so suggests he gets a bong or pipe? Or not. Chances are he'll get bored with it soon and he must be off to uni? In which case problem solved

No, I'm not doing the reverse. The fact that he smokes weed bears no relevance to his likeliness of being a decent person.

Got a bit worried the OP was possibly my neighbour

If next door said something similar to me about smoking pot and stinking their house out I'd have no issues at all with moving to the other side of my house or going else where to smoke on an evening

not all youths are going to stab you up for having a word tongue out

I think this is how it would go it a good 95% of cases.

Its either going to pan out one of 2 ways

1) As Danny describes above

2) The OP gets told to fk off and gets a bit of lip, at which point he involves the parents or the BiB
