Keeping an eye on Sunday/Monday for some severe thunder storm action in the SE. Warm air will start to cover the UK Friday, might be cloudy. Unfortunately the earlier hope for a lengthy warm spell have been dashed by some pretty cool air piling in from the north.

Warm humid air, plus cool northern air... Fireworks!
Brilliant !

Met office currently predicting 28 in the East this weekend.

Western areas may be much cooler.

It has just got warm frown

Muggy as a muggy thing as well here in East Berks.

Any chance of that light show making an appearance still? BBC reckon there might be some thundery showers on Sunday.

Going the other way on Saturday, looking forward to a week in the sun.

sorry!
Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

Now looking like a couple of days of sun, then 5 days of rain; serves me right, really. getmecoat

It is.

If I wanted that kind of heat I'd go "abroad" instead of Devon wink

Temps at 1pm...

Heat could generate isolated heavy showers today. Widespread thunder still good for tomorrow, will update with specific areas when I find out

Just to vent everywhere in Europe seems to have better weather that us at the moment and for the future weeks.

One day of heat maybe you could say Sunday too, but that's all we got.

This weekend forecast 16 degrees, that's in Southampton. Cant moan to much Scotland looks awful all the time of late.

Yes, an iffy week ahead. Slack pressure as we're stuck between low and high - low pressure always around.

yes

Glasgow Wednesday last week 9 degrees maximum and drizzly rain, had the heated seats on in the car, it then warmed up to a balmy 13, rained, and I mean biblical bouncing off the roof so you can hear it, rain, till Saturday morning. Golfed last night in a gale, bag blown over constantly, chasing my hat down the fairway, the lot, even for a hardy West of Scotlander it's been hard to take for this time of the year.

The attitude up here is we deserve it for such a good summer last year. laugh

Yes I know what you mean but it's the forecast for the week ahead as puggit says we cant shake the low pressure.

Jeeze that is bad, the week ahead for you doesn't look much better. Feel fortunate my grandad was from Edinburgh, he met my nan down here when he came down for training for ww2 and they chose the south coast. He always moaned about the hot summer days especially the evening not dipping much below 20 degrees on occasions.

Roll on the return of subborn high pressure over western Europe.

And things are beginning to look worse. A Greenland-Iceland-Scandinavia high pressure block could be forming - meaning the low pressure train will be aimed at Spain/France/Western Med. This could be bad for heat lovers, good for gardeners!

Equally, if the Azores high can squeeze up and shut off the lows, we could be in for a scorcber
