I may be about to spend an insane amount of money on some very desirable Lego sets.

I have yet to look in on your polite driving thread Dicky, I shall have a look shortly!!

When I was around 12 or 13 my mum's fella bred some rabbits for eating, I was warned not to get attached to them and I did understand why they were being raised, it was still difficult when the time came, but I did enjoy the rabbit casseroles and pies we had after.

Interesting how I went from amiably flashing a lorry out to causing a dangerous situation.

So quickly, too.

Dicky's Oft Repeated Tales

My mum has recently told me that one of my great uncles flew with the Royal Flying Corps. Yeah, why not wait until he's been dead for thirty five years then tell me? What? I'd have loved to have spoken to him about that. But nobody ever said.

Sake.
So much goes unsaid when it comes to families, it's not right is it? I only found out at my Dad's wake that his much older brother (who died two years earlier) was the arresting officer when Mira Hindley was officially nicked a few days after Ian Brady. As gruesome as it sounds, I'd have liked to have heard more about it from the horse's mouth.
It was certainly my intention to do the old "suspended in flight" thing Nij, although as glenrobbo's pointed out it may be a trifle unstable with an incorrect taiilfin!!!! But enough of my Sopwith musings, why on earth would you want to talk to Mr Ed about your uncle?!?!? confused
I fear whatever wires I possess may have been crossed since I logged off and had me tea - who is Mr.Ed…? I suspect I may be due a large and very colourful whoosh parrot!! I meant that I'd liked to have had the chance to ask my uncle more about his involvement in the case, I know it's morbid but I have a fascination for British criminal history! I already knew that he took part in searching the moors at the time, but not that he was so intimately involved with Hindley's arrest, it was quite a shock when my other uncle told me about it as we were raising a glass to my Dad in the boozer he keeled over in. I'm fascinated by stuff like the great train robbery, the London underworld from the '30s right through to the '70s and what have you, there's a bit of villainy on my mum's side of the family which is probably where the interest springs from.

Anyway guvnor, you ain't seen me right...? biglaugh

Mister Ed was a talking horse in an American TV series that was aired in the UK in the 1960's

Possibly repeated since then, but do not fret if you haven't seen it.

It was not exactly ground-breaking stuff, even in its' day.

Ahh I see. I was probably too busy watching Thunderbirds... wink

(And yet, more trivia...! The actor who voiced Jeff Tracey in Thunderbrids played a right villain in an episode of The Sweeney)

There are Mr Ed clips on YouTube.

I'd post a link but my phone is in need of therapy without that added burden.

Time it took to type that I could have cranked up the laptop.
