Having other beliefs forced upon you is part of what causes the most problems for lbgtbietc folk, so forcing app users to display this rainbow icon is just the other side of that coin.

If I want to display it I should be able to choose to, its not for someone else to put it there so I am making a statement that I may not agree with or want to make.

This is the problem, making people do/think/or say things rather than just leaving them alone we seem to almost enjoy making a big deal out of stuff. Really we should just mind our own fking business and let people be who they are.
I totally agree with this statement. Every other week it seems to be pride in my local town, ballons in rainbow colours all over the office, Lanyards in rainbow colours supporting pride etc.

I really couldn't give a s**t. If they want to be what ever they are then so be it but dont shout from the roof tops then moan when it suits sorry. I don't moan we dont get a heterosexual day or I didnt get what I wanted as I am straight.

Sad that alot use LBGT as a fad to get what they want.

(yes I have gone off on a tangent sorry)

Some PHers in the Cardiff area may have noted that Ambulances in our area (yes, the ones which have an Ambiwlans label on them) have recently had the bonnets liveried with a 'pride' rainbow.

I don't want to see the invoice from the (presumably gay) signwriter but I expect that for a fleet of vehicles it would not be inconsiderable.

My neighbour suffered a fall which saw him trapped in his own home, waiting for an Ambiwlans for around 6 hours - They told him it is because the service is 'cash strapped.' I feel like having a rant about priorities but I fear it wouldn't achieve anything.

How is having sex with them a sign of support?

Maybe they were donated. The stickers on the air ambulance were.

It's just a joke. I'm bisexual, my dislike of corporate sponsorship of Pride obviously has nothing to do with homophobia.

That’s just inaccurate. Homosexuality is still illegal in 73 countries in the world.

I know you don’t think Revolut or Sainsbury’s or who ever matters because they’re just doing it for commercial reasons, but in my opinion the more it is normalised in the west the better the chances of it being decriminalised else where.

Botswana recently decriminalised homosexuality, for example, so it is not like things aren’t still progressing.
Just out of intrest those 73 countries... in how many of them is it still illegal for an unmarried heterosexual couple to share a room/bed? Punishable in the same way.

73 is my guess.
Sharing a room/bed as an unmarried heterosexual couple is a choice. Being homosexual isn’t.

Of course, the fact I have to reiterate such a simple point goes to prove that there’s still many more years of needing ‘Pride’.

It's actually surprisingly restrictive. IME a lot of straight women and gay men don't like it. (Particularly the former, I'd say the majority won't sleep with a man they know is bi)

I couldn’t possibly ever be bi. It is nothing to do with religion, prejudice or principles, simply the fact that I couldn’t emotionally deal with being turned down by masses of men as well as women.
