A lot of police forces use much older cars too, stops them being clocked.

Saw a 15 year old black Golf along with other cars stopping someone recently.
I thought they were mostly just skint! biggrin

15 years of being stunt driven chasing scroats, maybe the Germans do still “make them like they used to” after all!

I was surprised a few years back to see armed plod arriving at a Bristol railway station in a then 10 year old unmarked 5 Series.

Someone mentioned firefighters, don’t some of the seniors have blues fitted to their own private cars so they can attend shouts?

Up here they have personal use of "Company" cars with removable lights for this.

I've been working in Stoke today, saw this and remembered this thread. This single roof bar had me fooled for a moment, I thought it was a genuine polite dog handler biglaugh

What's the keysafe type thingy on the rear panel?

This guy is a trend setter. Won't be long before all the Dog Units have single roof bars. biggrin

It is a vehicle charging point. Likely the vehicle was previously used by one of the emergency services.

Anyone using the 'POLITE' wording on anything should be forced to eat dog poo. It started off as police impersonation and is now just very, very sad.

Is the single roof bar supposed to be an, at a glance it could be mistaken for a light bar?

Didn't it starts off on Dragons Den with some woman inventing high Vis clothing with POLITE written across it?

What camp do these guys sit in

Waiting for people to hydro lock and then offering a winch out

https://youtu.be/tOJ8N4MhEEA?si=gtb-WciOzdc1RQJ_

I don’t know if I could stand there myself allowing people to wreck their motors, I dunno

I assume that people who drive cars into floods while being filmed just do it for the banter and in full expectation of the car being wrecked?

Pretty sure some of the Rufford Ford gang did pretty much that; these two just look hapless though.

It’ll have been covered before, but would this lot have a reasonable claim on their policies? Or might the insurer tell them to jog on?!

I’ve often wondered if insurers pay someone to browse social media looking for stuff like these videos, to add numberplates to a database of numpties, which could be handy if they claim

Apparently they do, because I've heard of insurers refusing to pay for repairs to damage to certain cars, and when the owner complains, the insurer has said they'd seen footage of their car being damaged in crashes on the Nürburgring which is specifically excluded from most insurers' policies. So now many of those videos obscure the registration but it's still fairly easy to match up damage on a car with damage seen on a video, especially when the make, model and everything else lines up.

What do you think will concern him more, the piss taking at the golf club or the remote chance he will start collecting his £100k a year or two earlier?

Not his Police pensions, didn't qualify for a Scotland Yard one, but the Civil Nuclear Constabluary pension still applies.
