Frank Ifield - a very popular singer in the UK throughout the 1960s. His style of singing was eclipsed by the new "rock" groups like The Beatles and The Stones but he remained popular amongst the "older set" for a long time.
One of those songs that just sticks in your head....I remember it very well.
Not to mention the distant bell and the stars that fell.

Well, there's a big one the news, but that's being discussed in NP&E. Until there's another worth noting, we have to make do with jokes about a popular '60s yodeler. smile
He did home deliveries as well? I didn’t know they’d been going that long tbh.

I would trust a yodel from Frank Ifield much more than i would from the delivery company of the same name.

Dabney Coleman (92)

One of those actors who never felt like he was acting. Rocked up as a background piece of furniture but often stole the scene he was in.

Made almost everything he was in that little bit better.
I can't think of a better reason to post this smile

Americans are still prudish about that word. I'm sure they view it like Brits view c--t. Which for Aussies is just part of their vocabularylaugh
Which word is this?
Antidisestablishmentarianism.
My dear old dad's favourite long word for many years, not heard it for many years, a good memory, thanks Blib

My dear old dad played in his backing band a couple of times in the 60s .

Our chief weapons are fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope, and nice red uniforms - Oh damn!

His book is a good read - if not very complimentary to the RAF.

As nobody has mentioned her, I will as I've been interested in art since a kid.
JUNE MENDOZA

Died 15 May, aged 99, so had fewer than 4 weeks to reach 100.

Who is she most will ask?
Probably the best portrait artist ever to have lived (imo).
Knew she was going to be a painter from age 12, started 'life classes' at 14!

And has painted virtually everyone famous going...

Interested? Take a peek at who she's painted.
