The trouble is Bobbers, someone has to go to the trouble of sorting out questions etc - some times other do the quiz - and then when only 4 people or so enter, it's a bit of a let down.
I know i know, people can choose not to be on the internet of an evening and i would be the first to defend that right but if people think my quizzes are too difficult, then maybe it's time for a change?
Just a thought
Sorry I didn’t take part in the quiz yesterday evening. The questions look really good, no problems with those.
I rarely take part in the quiz because it is on Friday evening and that time has other attractions, Yesterday I was in a local pub garden with my family enjoying a meal and a few pints of Doombar. drink

It's a black poplar, so not very good firewood ( unlike th eucalyptus I have been getting) , however it's free & only 5 km away.
Magoo, oak at that price is cheap cf prices here.

Yep I know it's still good value Paua.
I saw on the wood thread that you had some black to cut. Should be ok if you mix it in with other wood though.
I may buy some chestnut also and mix it in with the oak, just at the early stage of starting the fire.

I've just met someone with 70 acres of woodland so some business may be done! Only a mile or so away aswell!

Steady on chaps, or next thing you'll be comparing chopper sizes... wink

Good Morneve Everybody. wavey

Elbow test negative. No wood here, except for the fence panels.

It looks like a decent sunny morning so I hope to finish the fencing today, as long as I can co-opt my young neighbour to fix the retaining clips on his side when it comes to the last panel, because there won't be a gap for me to walk through. ( Unless my measuring has been a bit rubbish! )

I have been wondering whether to incorporate a badger flap for Boris, but we haven't seen him for ages. frown
Perhaps he's too busy with all his partying?

Gud moaning all (unless you're in a different timezone, in which case it isn't. Moaning, that is.)

I'm literally not bothering to do anything today, because I literally can't be bothered.

There's a whole weekend of motorsport ahead (Monaco Grand Prix, MotoGP from Mugello, BTCC at Fruxton, Indy 500), and most of it seems to be happening at the same time. Which is frustrating. I'll just have to do the best that I can.

Life is full of tribulations.

Weather is mixed, cloud and sunny spells, a spot of cleaning, a bit of shopping, eye test each and probably new glasses for me, lunch in there somewhere, pick up the new bikes, and friends around for a meal and drinks around 6pm!!!

Of course, it was all black & white back then...

70 acres - you want a hand? I'll bring my saw. What tree species?

Lot of water ( you can see it coming off th bottom of th chain in th rip-cuts) in th bkl poplar, so th dried weight will be low. As you say, it'll be a good mixer & I won't resent burning it when I'm not cold but 'her indoors " wants fire.

Congrats, spikey. Park run is a good habit to get into. I used to enjoy doing it regularly but I'm very much outof shape and overweight now. Need to give my own arse a kick, really.

Off to see Partridge tonight at Leeds arena. A-ha.

No need for all that. You just need to squint a bit harder. If that doesn't work then stick the tip of your tongue out of the corner of your mouth!

Parkrun time was 28:47, over a minute quicker than last week, mostly as I started closer to the front so wasn't as held up near the start as much as I was last week.

Tried that, it's fine for a while, then I find myself squinting at everything and everybody, which as you well know doesn't go down well in the Wasp and Ashtray!!!

Good result that spikeyhead!!!

Firstlylee, I should report the Dowager is fine and restored to normal levels of irascibility, and no mistake.

2ndly, Barnfind has had a miraculous re-invigoration since being administered that there NZ Green-Lipped Mussel concoction in a capsule, albeit the cheeeese to assist with the swallowing, may be partly responsible?

Good to hear that the Dowager has recovered from her fall.

I have always been a firm advocate of the healing powers of cheese.

As for brittle camlock nuts, do you mean the receptacle that the two camlock prongs engage with?
It could be corrosion or inferior quality fasteners.
The camlocks I used to be familiar with were all aerospace quality cadmium-plated steel.
Maybe your troublesome camlocks are too short and are over-stressing the retainer/ receptacle cam slots?

I don't think wemakeplanebits.com manufacture fasteners, they are usually obtained from approved specialist suppliers such as LAS.
