There were raised voices and expletives. And avocado. The Duty Officer was in a bit of a pickle when he called.
Aahhh, so that's where the avocados went from the top of the compost heap!!!!

Yes, any mention of Avo Cado will trigger a few expletives.....

I trust the Cheese and Port course will restore your faith in NHS cuisson?

/bugger!
There is actually a cheese and biscuits option on the menu.

Sadly there is no Port option. And the cheese, isn’t.

First Bobbers, now you?

Am I actually still under anaesthetic and experiencing some sort of hideous parallel dimension?

The very irritating (and in possession of only an outside voice) whingeing scouser has left (against advice from the consultant), after complaining about everything and anything, including:

  • The food
  • The drinks
  • His perceived lack of medication
  • Him not being first on the surgery list
  • Not being told exactly how long the surgery would take
  • Not being told exactly what time he would go to theatre
  • Being told he had to be here at 0730 (the same as everyone else, ever, for surgery)
  • The TV (thankfully) not working
  • The consultant (the guy who created the Limb Reconstruction Unit over 25 years ago, who has come out of retirement to help clear the backlog caused by CoVid, who is recognised internationally as a peer-reviewed published subject matter expert, who has lectured all over the world, is a Fellow of several Royal Societies of…, who is a professor, lecturer, trainer and examiner) “hasn’t got a fking clue what he’s on about…”
  • The nurses
  • The physiotherapist
  • The Occupational Therapists
  • The Pharmacist
  • The Health Care Assistants
  • The Cleaners
  • The Catering Staff
  • The Student Nurses
  • The Ward Managers
  • The student Doctors
  • The junior Doctors
  • Not being able to get on some websites on the hospital WiFi
  • His bed/pillows/blanket
Throw in every other word being abuse and/or swearing and playing videos from TikTok/YouTube/Facebook on his phone at full volume… He refused to sign his self discharge papers, but there were enough staff present that it’s never going to be an issue. I said I’d happily go on record he’d refused to sign and had been advised, several times in the strongest possible terms he was at real risk if he left against this advice.

I hope he gets run over, because there isn’t an A&E at this hospital, or an ICU, so he wouldn’t be back…

What an utter cock.

Now I have a craving for cheese and crackers.

I have eaten my delicious chicken & mixed veg curry with beansprouts and noodles, some homemade chocolate Easter nest cake with strawberries and cream and a pint of Doom Bar Zero.

I have a nice bit of mature Cheddar and a bit of Roquefort. I may have to combine a small dish of olives, some baby tomatoes, some chutney, and assorted cheese biscuits to satisfy my cheesey proclivities. lick
