Odd things your neighbours do?

we have a shared drive, ok its my drive but next door has access across the first 50/60 yds,
the brambles were growing down the side of the drive so I trimmed them back,
the following year there was a bumper crop of berrys,
I planned to pick them that weekend, but next doors visitors just finished picking the lot, had they walked another 100 yds the lane had lots but they wanted these.......
I told them to wash them well as I often stopped on the way home from the pub to water the bushes,
dont know if they ate them.
Surely the same goes for you? If there is other berries so close by just have them, rather than trying to stop the neighbours eating them?the brambles were growing down the side of the drive so I trimmed them back,

Not a neighbour but in work car park this morning (I stuck around to watch) I saw a woman reverse park her car, taking ages. She then got out and went behind, I thought, to see how much room she had. She then got back in, and moved the car almost imperceptibly backwards. She repeated this process about 5 times. She then got out and over the next 10 minutes (I was putting off going in the office!) she went round and round the car peering in each window very intently, checking each door handle several times vigorously, and for some reason checking the wing mirrors were not loose. She also did multiple classic walking off, and then coming back to do more rituals. Clearly an affliction so I feel bad finding it even a bit funny but it's so peculiar seeing someone doing this type of behaviour.

Glad I don't live near that. Compared to his previous he really just trying to provoke people. At least it doesn't have any grammatical (or factual) errors like the previous oneHe's done it again

This in reference to Turkey potentially becoming a member of the EU. They don't speak Arabic, but then St Nick could tell him that as he was born there.
My neighbour took 4 months, yes 4 months to chop down a small tree in his garden. I offered to do it for him and have it down and chopped into logs for him inside an hour. Nope, he said he was quite happy just nibbling at it. I did tell him if he nibbled it, it would be down by now!
He will also put all his garden rubbish in a rubble bag, put it in the back of his car and leave it over night. He'll then, without fail moan about bugs in his car. So he does exactly the same the next time, then moan about having bugs in his car.
He's a rare one but a good guy.

My neighbours have over the past year constantly complained how poor they are. They find an excuse to bring it up in literally every conversation, to the point where all the other neighbours in our development have said they've noticed it too. It has got to the point where its a bit tiresome listening to them claim how they can't afford a nice meal out or to buy anything nice whilst out shopping.
....
BUT
....
The chap has just put down a deposit on a new Focus RS to replace his 07 Civic Type R.
They have recently bought a pedigree Schnauzer puppy, and regularly pay for a private dog trainer, hair clipping and doggy day care.
They have just had all the windows in their house replaced.
Now the woman keeps saying how she feels left out that they are the only ones in the development who don't have at least one SUV. I can therefore see an Evoque or similar incoming to replace her Fiesta very soon.
But, you have to understand, they're really poor and can't afford anything.

Flat next door is largely unused, then three-four young blokes pile in on occasional evenings.
Manic intense laughter for half an hour then silence for two hours, then manic laughter, then on the balcony smoking weed.
I find second hand weed smoke a bit like aromatic pipe tobacco, i.e. quite pleasant, wafting through the windows of a summer evening.
They do sound mental though.

Used to be friends with someone similar (until I saw the light and decided that I didn't need such people in my life)....

I was recently separated, struggling to pay the bills and living off food parcels from my parents whilst working both a full time job and part time bar work at weekends in order to fuel my car to get to work
She constantly complained about how skint they were whilst buying inordinate amounts of tat for her kids, smoking 40 fags a day, drinking a bottle of wine per night and having at least 4 takeaways a week
Last I heard of them, husband was in the paper after being done for benefit fraud (apparently they took him to court over a one off overpayment )

I have a friend like that however they most certainly aren't skint and they spend their money on holidays, private school and nice cars, I think she says it to not make us feel bad as they are well off and we aren't; doesn't bother us though.
Final straw for me came when my ex wife got back in touch with my "friends" 18 months after we split up and she lied to my face saying that she hadn't heard from her - a week later invited her and the bloke she ran off with over to "Friday Night Club" for drinksMy OH met them once, walked out of the house and said that she was never going back - I cut them off and have never missed them since. Manipulative users! My brother's best friend moved back from Oz a couple of years ago and rented a house - next door to them. She can't stand them either

I had a friend who also perpetually claimed poverty. Rarely would do anything with us that involved spending money and even when she did would sponge drinks off us saying she couldn't afford to buy her rounds. She did seem to be relatively poor to be fair and wasn't paid a whole heap - she had a non-job in publishing that paid buttons. We were happy to sub her drinks as we were doing better than her.
She then asked me to look at her trust fund for some advice on investment. The trust had bought her flat outright for her and still had a few million quid in it (this was in the late 80's). We all had eye-watering mortgages. It turns out she could take income out of the trust fund but had decided not to do so. My advice was to stop claiming poverty and pay for her own drinks in future.
She wasn't hyper-wealthy but she made the rest of us look poor. The income in the trust was more than any of us earned at the time.

Am I the only one who checks this thread to see if I'm in it?
Nope, I've been reading this thread for the exact same reason"Fat brown bloke in his pyjamas walks around his orange car with a torch checking his paint" (checking the paint the night before a day full of detailing)
or
"Sometimes has a laptop on the (sun)roof of his car with a blue wire going through the drivers' side window, and he's standing there doing something on the computer whilst drinking a can of beer at 11:00pm" (Coding BMW with eSys after someone's found a new code...)
