A longish (six miles) hot sunny walk along the coast today with the write and dog and a few beers ouside a pub in the sun.

Playing with a little puppy (mini version of our dog) while there. Sitting in the sun, with beers seeing two Astons, an immaculate TR8 aTriumph P5, Willy's Jeep, several nice 911s, a cool new Police Volvo XC70....and other cars pass by.

Just a nice carefree afternoon.

Browsing the lounge and seeing a 9 year old topic brought back up for no particular reason.

9 years ago I would have said taking my jack Russel for a walk

Now I can’t say that and I feel sad.

Cheers

9 years ago, getting a K1200R Sport made me happy... I ran it for one glorious summer before deciding over 160 brake in a bike was likely to see my licence disappear sooner rather than later wink

Today: asked to take over karate training at last minute as sensei was ill, and even the tiny kids listened and did (well, they tried...) biggrin

Given some topical threads of late I wouldn't be so harsh for a good news thread.

For me, having my other half ask me when Andy Warhol was born just after I had read an info poster giving the same info. I therfore said, with an air of nonchalance, 1928, I think 6 August, and proceeded to watch a visibly impressed partner read same said poster awaiting the inevitable.

That and going for a swim in the sea after a long hot day.

You are Lord Peter Whimsey and AICMFP.

One for the kids there..

Yesterday I visited my friends company and his gorgeous PA told me how lovely it was to see me and I really must come down more often.

That was pleasant.

This thread. Because this:

Today a Spitfire flew overhead. That noise always cheers me up.
Reminded me about a party we had just as the weather turned fine in September. The Bournemouth airshow was on and a Spitfire went over a few times. (I got quite excited about it at one point and then realised I was stood next to a friend so I apologised as he's German. hehe )

We live 5 miles away (as the Spifire flies) from Sywell aerodrome in Northamptonshire. We hear one on most summer days. It's also on one of me cycling routes, and very often see it taking off and landing. For just under £3k you can have a go in it.

My son celebrated his self-titled, " Cancerversary ", marking five years since he left hospital.

That in itself made me very happy because he's still here. But I was even happier when I saw the rather splendid, hand drawn card given to him by one of his school friends.

It's the little things that make us take stock of the bigger things.
