Amazon Prime useless again

I wanted some silver foil tape earlier this week, is was about £2 more expensive on Prime as it was non-Prime with free delivery.
Not sure of your point as there is always a (in your case above) "16 new available from £3.99" link. It's not like they hide cheaper options, and I don't think it's unreasonable for them to list their own item first. In your example, the £5.88 price isn't sold by Amazon or on Prime.JimSuperSix said:
I suspect Amazon could deliver everything within 30 seconds, flown in by angels in the rays of the setting sun over paradise, and some people would still complain that the sun was too bright.....
Quite.I bought a used book via Amazon with standard postage. Postage said "between the 5th and 10th of April"... It was delivered yesterday.

Bought a new sander yesterday, was expecting it today as I'm a Prime member (fnaar), nope, due tomorrow.
Luckily I'm not in a hurry for it & Screwfix are cheaper on the sanding discs for it so I'm off there once it arrives.
Complain !! Every time I have a Prime delivery arrive late (which is fairly regularly), I get onto them and have a moan. Pretty much every time, I get 30 days added to my Prime membership and the last time I got £40 refunded against the renewal price too.Luckily I'm not in a hurry for it & Screwfix are cheaper on the sanding discs for it so I'm off there once it arrives.

I had 7 or 8 months added to my 1st years Prime membership + a couple of £5 or £10 credits so it worked out pretty good value to be fair This year they've been better + I have ordered a LOT less than previous years.

The point I was making is that some people on this thread are just finding reasons to complain. Even if Amazon can and often does exceed their promises.

Maybe not good for high street shops, but seeing as councils have done everything they can to make it impossible to get into the nearest town I don't really care about that any more, we're way too far past that now to go back.

This didn't work for me a few weeks ago. I complained that the majority of my recent deliveries were late, but they told me they no longer give free months as compensation. He initially offered me a £5 'promotional credit', but then upped that to a refund of 50% of the renewal fee, which sounded pretty good. No surprise that 10 days later my refund hadn't come through, I called to complain and was told that 'the previous agent made a mistake'.I eventually got through to a manager who explained that he definitely could not honour that deal, but instead the best he could do was to give me a £20 promotional credit.
Not good enough, really. All of our delivery issues started after the local Amazon warehouse opened (3 miles away!) and the service has been appalling.

I love it. I get all sorts delivered from them, from nuts and bolts to car tools. Do feel bad about ordering sub £2 items and getting them delivered, sometimes the same day but I find the whole shopping on the high street a complete waste of time. And I usually forget stuff so have to go back.
Last year I made a conscious effort to use the motor factors on my high street but found it annoying even they had to order parts in (slower than amazon), charged more and the cherry on the cake was they ordered in the wrong socket for my fan switch even though I took it in to them. Wanted a 28mm deep hex and ended up with a 30mm torx style. Waste of time.

I have something arriving today, anytime before 9pm says the tracking.
Like yes, I can stay in all f'in day...
Wish I had bought it on Ebay instead and collected from Argos or used a seller who uses a courier with a time slot (a not huge box that I could have collected by Doddle, but Amazon are idiots and remove collection options automatically if too big for a locker).
Sods law that the moment I pop out they will attempt delivery
