Gun Pawn - Warning - Lots of Pictures - as requested
Discussion
That pic is an aftermarket add-on. Glock did make some with thumb safeties from the factory for some Police forces around the world who requested it and they may have shown one to the MOD when they trying to win a UK Army contract, but I'm pretty sure they never offered them to the open market.
I'm sure there will be plenty of people who will debate trigger vs. external safety on a carry/service pistol. Personally, I don't really think there's a major issue either way. As long as you keep control, the shot will go in the intended direction. If you are out of control, an external safety might save you, but prevention is better than cure.

Hmm, very nice indeed. I am no gun expert, but I have a mate who is a bit keen on such things and legally owns pistols in the UK. He says that the .45ACP is one of the best for putting people down and stopping them getting up again (I asked him as research for a book).robsa said:

The best thing for putting someone down is something you can aim & fire accurately.
That might be a big .45 or may not be.

If you are talking about the glock it's not a safety in the sense you are talking. Iirc it blocks the striker from contacting the primer on the cartridge I.e stops the pistol going off if dropped etc but pul the trigger it goes bang.See robsa see what you've done.
This seems as good a place as any to ask
I've got a GAMO PT85 CO2 pistol http://www.gamousa.com/product.aspx?product=PT-85%... (I know it's not as impressive as other people's stuff in this thread)
I've shot around 1000 rounds through it and cant help but think it could do with a clean.
The question is how would I go about cleaning it?
Any thoughts?
Cheers
Matt

I'd use that or something similar.

Most Federal Agencies are using 10mm or .40 S&W cartridges although Certain FBI tactical teams prefer the 10MM auto.
10mm is best MM and no federal agencies use it I'm pretty sure of that. Women can't handle it hense short and weak. However the fbi have just switched back to 9mm as their testing says modern 9mm hp are just as effective as anything else these days.

Nice one mate, I'd only posted the link to show what gun I was talking about, maybe I should have read the site properly first!http://www.gamousa.com/product.aspx?productID=86

Have ordered a similar kit off ebay so no doubt I'll be back to ask more stupid questions once its arrived.

I always liked the .40 as a calibre though, a good compromise and as easy to handle as 9mm (when not in isosco/weaver anyway).

Interesting how the magazine release is a totally different design to the pps. Which ppq is it?
It's the M2.They went back to a traditional thumb button for the mag release and mine is on the other side as I am right handed.
Much better pic & info from the Walther site.
