Here's a question.

Are larger size bottles 'weaker' than smaller ones?

Reason i ask, my 100ml bottle of CK ALL recently expired, so I reordered from amazon a 200ml one.

Opened it up, packaging etc all seems original but... it's like 1/5 as potent as my last bottle, admittedly CK ALL isn't terribly strong to begin with but this seemed ridiculous.

So I sent it back stating that it seemed to be 'watered down' and purchased the same again from a different supplier (Fragrance Direct)

This duly arrived, exact same packaging as the amazon one, opened it up and it too seems exceptionally weak compared to my original one, so I'm at a bit of a loss.

big bottles = weaker?

Reformulation?, although the last bottle I got from new was only a year ago.

All very strange, I'm quite disappointed, CJK ALL was good for a light summery floral fragrance.

I didn’t realise decants were a thing. Have just picked a few up from Toms.

Does anyone have any website recommendations for Penhaligon's decants?

Not sure if they do it online but I got this from their store in Guildford and it has 10ml bottles of Halfeti, Blenheim Bouquet, Endymion, Juniper Sling and one other that I have used and thrown away and can't remember the name of lol. Think it was £40 or thereabouts which I thought was cheap and said that to the girl in the shop and she said that store is a discount one, so it may be more on the website.

Cheers, they have one at Bicester Village just up the road so will take a look.

It’s a shame that, although Penhaligon's make some lovely fragrances, they last about 5 minutes.

If you like your Creed products Nose Paris has some good prices on selected creed products. £145 for 100ml original vetiver delivered other day others too at that price.

Only until the end of the month, as they can’t ship Creed products outside the EU

TF Beau de Jour is very nice, and it's just been released into the signature (cheaper) line.

As in people on eBay/Gumtree/Facebook market etc who buy some and then flog you 5ml?

Saw this online, but wondered what you put it into when collecting from the seller?

Halfeti lasts all day on me but the others I have tried are gone fairly quickly which is, as you say, a shame.

Eh?

You don't put it into anything. It'll come in a plastic atomiser.

Be really careful what you buy and from whom though; the potential (and ease) for scamming is high. Tom is one of the very few I'll buy from knowing I'll get exactly what he says it is. Been using him for years for decants and will do as long as he continues to want to supply them!

Just a heads up for fans of Tom Ford Ombre Leather. I have a bottle when it was in their special editions Ombre Leather 16. It's my favorite scent. Quite pricey though so I only use it on occasions. I know you can get good copycat and clone versions of it cheaper but Next are doing a small bottle for £8 called Next Voyage which smells pretty much the same. It doesn't last like TF does but it's a great cheap alternative.

Since Armani discontinued their White por Homme, I only smell like imperial leather (or petrol and grease and ‘oily metal’ if I’ve been playing Meccano with one of the cars)

I'm a big fan of TF private blends but FF is one of the worst, very cheap and nasty.

Picked up a cheap bottle of Bvlgari Man 'Wood Essence' EDP. Very subtle but a great one for the office; really like it.

Top notes: Italian Citrus Zests, Essence of Coriander
Heart notes: Cypress Wood, Haitian Vetiver Essence
Base notes: Cedar Wood, Ambergris Accords, Benzoin Siam

Yeah it's not the best. I prefer TV and Ombre Leather. The FF was a non starter when the Mrs said it was rank.

Never really liked any of the Tom Ford stuff for some reason.

I am wearing Royal Mayfair today, I chop and change my mind a lot but I really think this is my all time favourite.
