Tell us something really trivial about your life (Vol 26)

Blimey. That was close. Logging into internet banking. Normally straight in. Nope. Try again very carefully. Nope. Try again extra super intricately carefully. Nope. Locked out. New screen "Fill In All Your Details And We'll Get Logged In As Soon As Possible" name, address, email, DoB, gran's Co-op Number, all the stuff. Tapping away I was, got as far as Debit Card Number and Security Number. Uh, oh. That can't be right. Luckily, I would have had to enter it all at once not in bits, so I hadn't submitted anything. Delete, delete, delete.
It was NatWest if you're having trouble logging in there today.

Being an amputee makes me pretty hot...
Unfortunately I mean literally, I can't fecking sleep as I'm too warm!
Explain that to the listeners, Alex.Unfortunately I mean literally, I can't fecking sleep as I'm too warm!
It's clear enough when it's pointed out but it had never occurred to me until you described what's going on.
For those that are interested, here's the explanation. Being an extremity, you lose a lot of heat through you feet. You also lose a fair bit through the backs if the knees and the skin that covers your lower legs. I have none of these things, which means my body can't get rid of as much heat as it used to be able to.
This wouldn't be so bad if my head had got used to this fact and acted accordingly, but it hasn't. I still try and get rid of heat at the same rate I did before, only now that's not enough. As a result, hot weather is horrible and it's very hard to cool down when I do overheat, which is all the time.

When I was young we had a piano and the tuner would come every so often, he was blind, and we used to sit and watch him work on the piano with his tuning key and tuning fork with a lovely dog curled round his feet; no interest in us, just devoted to its master. He was a lovely man, Mr Parry.
Probably our age...When I was young we had a piano and the tuner would come every so often, he was blind, and we used to sit and watch him work on the piano with his tuning key and tuning fork with a lovely dog curled round his feet; no interest in us, just devoted to its master. He was a lovely man, Mr Parry.
Also probably the same blind man

I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I had finished my degree, achieved a 2:1 and got accepted onto my Masters...and today...
...I managed to get a bursary of £10,000 for it!!!
Elated, is probably the best word I can find. I am speechless, to be fair. I've never received anything like this...whilst money will still be tight, but wow. Literally feels like I've won the lottery.
GoodwoodFOS tomorrow too...can't wait. Not going to take the camera this year, just want to enjoy it.

Found an old photo of a school chum's Dad. All we knew was he had an exhaust business, not race the bloody things.

It's been miserable weather all morning so only a short walk/swim with the dogs (they swam, I just got wet from the rain and from them when they came back out of the river). Decided to spring clean and tidy up. The Fez is back on the bear and the Pith helmet back on the skeleton (it does not look right the other way around). Moved the sofas to vacuum and found enough hair to knit another Spaniel, I've dusted the poison bottles and emptied the bin. I don't like housework and have now had enough, so am settling down to a nice traditional Sunday lunch of Guinness and Cadbury's Twirl bites.

Been a bit quiet in here today...
Yes, sorry, I've been assembling an arbour. It's white with pale blue highlights and we've put it where the previous owners' summer house was. They built it in wood with no damp proofing and it rotted away from the ground up. It must have taken some building but it wasn't an inspired design. We called it the bus stop.
Long term we will be having a replacement summer house but the one we want is nearly as much as my first house.
We will probably call it the bus stop.
